a little depressed today
Today I found out that my best friend is going to Europe for the summer. She got accepted into a study-abroad program that she's really been wanting to get into for a while now. This really depresses me thoug. Don't get me wrong I'm excited for her and glad that she got accepted into something she wants, but I barely get to see her as it is. If she goes to Europe for the summer I might be able to see her for a week at the most. I know I sound selfish, but I can't help it, she's pretty much the only thing that keeps me sane. The thing that makes the most aggitated is that she posted it on her facebook, but hasn't even told me yet. She's telling the wholrd, but she can't take five minutes to tell me? grr.. I feel bad for thinking these kinds of things. Am I a horrible person for being depressed about her good news?

clarifying my last blog
In my last blog I told you about a weird sex dream I'd had a few weeks ago, and then asked how to make the dreams stop. clarifying here: The dream a few weeks ago was just the first in a consistant series, that picks back up everytime I see the person I have the sex dream about.

Have any of you ever had really weird sex dreams about people it's really inapproriate to have sex dreams about?
I did a weeks ago about my Anthropology teacher, and now I can't look at him without having my mind go straight to that dream.
If you've had this problem is there anyting I can do to make the dreams stop and the thought to go away while I'm in classs?

knowledge vs. imagination
I've been thinking lately (shocking right?)about knowledge and imagination and which is a better trait to have. I mean, I want a guy who is intelligent, but I also want him to have a good imagination and those two things don't usually come together when you're talking about men as I have learned from previous boyfriends. Then I found this: “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” ~ Albert Einstein
After reading this amazing quote, I figure that if I can't have a guy with both intelligence and imagination, then I wouldn't mind having a guy with an imagination and not much brains.

Harry Potter
So, I recently read all the Harry Potter books for the first time. What can I say? I fell in love. Then I got curious and started looking around the internet for anything Harry Potter related. I found an amazing website. Since I know there are some "Potterheads" on this website, I figured I'd share.

fathers day 2009
A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty. ~Author Unknown
Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices call him father! ~Lydia M. Child
If the new American father feels bewildered and even defeated, let him take comfort from the fact that whatever he does in any fathering situation has a fifty percent chance of being right. ~Bill Cosby
To all you single fathers out there, I'd judt like to say that you are truely blessed and will be blessed 10x over for the greatest responsibility anyone could lay in your hands. For the troubles you endure everyday, I truely hope you find someone who makes you feel happy and who would be a wonderful mother-figure for your children.

Memorial Day 2009
On thy grave the rain shall fall from the eyes of a mighty nation! ~Thomas William Parsons
Although no sculptured marble should rise to their memory, nor engraved stone bear record of their deeds, yet will their remembrance be as lasting as the land they honored. ~Daniel Webster
Green sods are all their monuments; and yet it tells
A nobler history than pillared piles,
Or the eternal pyramids.
~James Gates Percival
For love of country they accepted death... ~James A. Garfield
They are dead; but they live in each Patriot's breast,
And their names are engraven on honor's bright crest.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families
for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of
need.
I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour.
Amen.
