Thinking back to some of my more enjoyable first dates....
I think having drinks and playing pinball was a good one. The staring into a new person's eyes and getting excited in a dark corner of a bar. That was a good time.
Seeing a concert together is a fun time. That was a great time for everyone involved.
I think in general, something quiet like a drink and some time to be able to talk is crucial. A loud bar usually doesnt work.
A mid day meeting was fun too.
