Forgiveness (poem)
[[Author's Note:I am a poet. This is one I wrote just a couple of days ago- it is written to/about all of the people over the years that have bullied me, used me, and generally treated me like shit. Enjoy :) ]]
Remember the girl that I used to be?
The little sweetheart that did nothing.
It's your hatred, I can finally see-
You need to remember that YOU made me.
I owe you all an apoligy
for all the things that created me-
I'm sorry I was stronger than I seemed,
I'm sorry I ignored you when you were mean.
I remember you trying to break me
with hateful words that meant nothing,
I cried myself to sleep at night-
But somehow, I made it out alive,
You broke my heart with your hate,
You almost made me die-
But as it is, all you have killed
is the litle girl inside.
My innocence died when you called me a "freak"
I cried, and I swore, and gave up being meek-
You showed me hate for my compassion.
I fought for you, my once-trusted companion.
You twisted me around with your lies.
You taught me to hate myself.
You made me ashamed to look into your eyes-
You put me on this shelf.
I'm wiping off the dust, now.
I'm forgiving all my tears.
I'm going to let it all go-
even my wasted fears.
I forgive you for all you did,
All the heartless things you ever said.
Because this is something I can forgive-
You gave me the strength to live.
