Life has problems
2007 was the year of the break-up for myself and the circles of friends in my life. In most cases the one who chose to leave or cheat had no reason outside of life's normal problems (money, unexpected repairs, schedule changes, etc..)
There was no history of domestic violence or drug problems or alcoholism. Life just wasn't "perfect" enough for them. As adults, you all should have learned by now there is no such thing as perfect and the grass is NEVER greener on the other side once you get there.
Life will always have bumps in the road and NOBODY is without a character flaw or pet peeve or some other issue that you can choose to accept and maybe improve on or you can allow it to drive you nuts until you find someone without that flaw.
Here's the catch, the new person you leave the old person for is going to have a whole new set of "flaws" even if they lack the flaw you convinced yourself that you could no longer live with in the relationship you left behind.
Do yourselves a favor, focus on the relationship you're in and remind yourself why you wanted to be involved with that person in the first place. Stop comparing yourselves to "desparate housewives" or "sex in the city" or whatever delusion you may have about how life should be.
There are no rich, charming, cultured, "perfect" people out there who are going to scoop you up and leave your problems in the past, If you want "perfect" then define "perfect" as you perceive it and work to become it, even if it's gonna take 10 years.
I'm not really looking for feedback, just venting. But For those of you on theses "singles" sites looking for greener grass, Grow up.
