The old tales don't state the end of the world as such,just that a new cycle will begin.The Earth's magnetic field is weekening,and we are overdue for a pole reversal,now my own theory on the consequences of a pole reversal is that DC electricity will want to flow in the opposite direction,this will cause the majority of electronic devices to stop working,due to the way that diodes and transistors operate.The result of this will be no computers,no computers=no banks,no banks=no money,no money=no food in supermarkets(you may remember back in the 80's there was a shelf packers strike here in Australia,it only took 4 days for the supermarkets to empty).Alot of people will go hungry and this will likely cause riots to occur in many places(the experience of terrible things).This won't effect many of the so called primative peoples as money has little to do with their way of life,and co-op barter groups will be in better standing as well.Of course AC electricity will only be affected in a 180 degree reversal,so all the older stuff that operates from valve state and induction motors will be unaffected(interesting that the Russian military still operates using valve-state,coincidence?).Old cars will still operate but new ones with electronic injection and onboard computers won't,the same applies to planes and the ocean liners and of course no mobile phones due to no microwaves(microwave appliances were banned in Russia in 1974,another coincidence?)The upshot of all this is that people will have to start to having actual communities again and realise the actual worthlessness of money,as no money=no inflation or taxes,we will all have to go back to a village lifestyle,all our money at this time is only a heap of I.O.U.'s anyhow.So the world's not going to end but things are going to change and after the initial calamity it will be a change for the better,start collecting dry goods and canned goods now,and start saving seeds but not from Monsato or other firms that employ terminater genes or G.M.O.'s.Tihe biggest evil doers on the planet,the Zionists,will lose most of their influence overnight and that's another positive outcome.Peace and harmony to all.

The fact that I am responding to this gives me a weird feeling... Not that I haven't thought about this topic, "the end", cause I have, but it's just not something that we talk about in "normal" circles of conversation, of which, I agree, are trivial at best.
There are many old books out there, most I would have to say have alot of fragments of fact mixed in with "ALOT" of bullshit, it's like being cought in a storm of right and left hooks, it's most common that a person gets lost in all the mis information, believing the unbelievable and disregarding the simple truth, of which is unbelievable... Now that's a run on sentance! There will probably be a few more of those before I get done...
What I have been thinking about for the last six + years is exactly your title in question form, "Is the world at it's peak?". But it wasn't that question that started things off for me... Have you ever gotten a tune stuck in your head, and it's there all day long, until you sum how stop thinking about it, then you may be off the hook, but there still stands a chance that it could come back... Well I get questions constantly running themselves like Daytona through the far reaches of my mind, like, "It's all elementary, my dear Watson!", well, I ask my self, Is it? Is it "all" elementary? and What is all? I constantly have these little questions, and I don't claim answers right away, and in most cases they linger, them out of know where, and usually as I'm thinking about something else, I get the answer to my question... Yes, it is all elementary.
Brother, I am not kidding, I was married to a woman, well, towards the end of this marriage is when I started to experience my subconscience... What I mean is I started to question things... I really don't know how to explain the experience I had... am having... I started to look deep and think deep about all sorts of things, the keys of which were Masonry (her dad was a Mason, and his dad, a 33deg scotish rite). My ex-father inlaws' dad worked on the atomic bomb that was dropped on Japan... Anyways, yes, I started to look and think deeply about masonry, art, religion, medicine, government, astronomy, astrology... I would say that that is just about the order too.
Ok, I am rambling, and I do apologize... "Long" story short, if there's not an end there always should be, what I mean is, if you take the golden number 19, and multiply it by the number... well the number of the beast (as it has become known),666, you get 12,654 which would take us back to the last ice age, of which I don't think they last very long by times standards... The golden number is acually the metetonic cycle, that says the moon, say if it's in taurus, that it will take another nineteen years for it to return back to taurus, that is one cycle, which is much easyier to track than the sun cycle, mainly because of the fact that the stars are fixed and used to mark the movement of the moon, and tose markings tell a tale, they produce a pattern by which if you're not afraid of the truth will fortell the future.
Do you think NASA is just for looking at the stars and planets? Do you really think that we will ever reach the far reaches of the universe? Hell, we can't even fly helicopters! ...
The signs are all there. Many people have writen about this very topic. All the greatest thinkers have all started with one seemingly simple question, that inevitably (sp?throughout!)leads to another question, and another, and another, infinity.... When I say all the signs are there, I mean they are so simple, rediculaslly simple. And they are in every small and large town on the planet, esspecially in the west. Errogance! it is very hard to keep a secret, and trust me there are many secrets, and then there is this... there are many signs within art, poetry, different books, but especially in the art between the 12th-13th centries to the 16th century...

In closing, I don't think we have to worry about anything destroying our planet, aka asteroid, that was the whole reason, and this is all only my opinion, what I believe, but the whole reason for NASA was to "save" this planet from, as Poe called it The Conquerer Worm. But then that is a very errogant and egotistical, greedy and selfish act. As if that would save us, as if we need saving... I like to think that "the planet" uses that asteroid strike as a way of replentishing its resources; fresh water and a new, revived atmosphere, all caused by the, what the Chinese call the Red Dragon.
Well, like I said this is just my personal theory, my personal belief. My hope is that you and others at least think about it without believing or dis-believing it....
