8 Signs Your Relationship Is Doomed

Certain qualities and actions should never be tolerated in a relationship no matter how good-looking your boyfriend is. The following are eight signs that your relationship is doomed.

1. He is secretive

If you are dating a man who is secretive about everything, you will always be worried and suspicious about what he's up to. If he won't admit to who he talks to or who he'll be seeing at boy's night out, he's being secretive. If he can't be open and honest with you, there is little hope for a good relationship.

2. He is dependent

Enjoying time with you is one thing, but if he needs to be with you constantly and you feel like you don't have any more alone time or time with friends, there is a problem. One partner in a relationship cannot be reliant on the other. It becomes too much pressure.

3. He is a momma's boy

This can be an especially big problem if he still lives with his mom. If you have any plans to move in together you need to be very careful. If he's never lived on his own, he's only used to being taken care of. That is not a role you want to play as his girlfriend.

4. He is bossy

If you're dating a man who is bossy you often only have two choices. One option is to get out and the second is to bend to his every demand. Bossy people are used to getting their own way. You can stay and show that you'll not be bossed around, but this often leads to arguments and a power struggle. He may also resort to other tactics to get his own way. Manipulation is a good example of this.

5. He is a chauvinist

A chauvinist is a man who thinks that men are the bosses and women must do as they're told. A chauvinist thinks that you, as a woman, are there to serve him. He will expect you to do all of the cooking and cleaning. It doesn't matter if you both have full-time jobs, a chauvinist will expect you to do it all.

6. He's a bad boy

A bad boy can be a criminal or a man who is simply not very nice to anyone. You might think that you can love him enough that he will decide to change his life around, but this rarely works. The only things that will happen is that your time will be wasted and you'll probably be taken advantage of.

7. He is jealous

If your boyfriend is jealous that you hang out with other people, you might be made to feel as if you are doing something wrong. While minor jealousy is flattering, jealousy that goes too far is unacceptable. People who are very jealous often hold much of the control in the relationship. It's not fair for him to use his jealousy to control who you hang out with or talk to.

8. He's cheap

If you're dating a cheap man, you have probably already noticed that you foot the bill for most of your dates. If he does take care of the bill, he will ask you to chip in for half. While it's perfectly fine to share expenses of dates, it becomes a problem when you begin noticing that he allows you to pay for most everything. If he's cheap now, you can only imagine how he will be in the future.

There are certain personal traits in people that can be overlooked, but some shouldn't be ignored. It's important to remember that people don't change when something is working for them. It might make you unhappy, but that doesn't mean your boyfriend will change. Instead of hoping and waiting, realize your relationship is doomed and move on.
