Why Having Your Buttons Pushed is Valuable

People who push your buttons can seem annoying. They have a gift when it comes to uncovering anything that causes you emotional angst. Furthermore, they take pleasure in making you uncomfortable. However, begin to look at them another way and you will see that they are doing you a favor when they highlight your weak spots. In fact, you can be grateful that they provide you with the opportunity to grow.

No doubt, you dislike being around people that go out of their way to target sore areas of your psyche. After all, you probably get the feeling that they do not have your best interests at heart. Moreover, communicating with them can be difficult when they hit a raw nerve. Nonetheless, they inadvertently allow you to see parts of your inner being that need work. Once you are aware that you are hypersensitive about a subject, you can examine why.

When people push your buttons, they offer you a chance to change for the better. Painful spots stem from former ordeals that are hidden by the mind. Just like the blind areas you might encounter when reversing a car, you know that they are there, but you cannot see them properly until a mirror is placed strategically in order to reflect them. When you react hysterically to something, you can bet that there is past trauma lurking. Subconsciously, you feel anguish from an event that happened long ago. If people bring up a subject that ails you, you might overreact emotionally.

However, being aware that you can use such instances to aid your personal development can be valuable. Once you understand that you have gone overboard emotionally, you can look back to your past and heal the original trauma. Naturally, you cannot change what has happened, but you can alter the way you handle it and how you feel.

Observing the event and taking note of how it has benefited you by making you stronger or wiser can help you see things differently. Negative experiences from long ago can be released when they have been recognized. Since they have no power over you in the present moment unless you let them, you can choose to discharge them.

Gaining emotional freedom will make you feel lighter and more joyful. Once you have let go, you will also be able to communicate in a balanced fashion when people bring up, what used to be, painful subjects.

People who push your buttons might not purposefully help you, but you can use their behavior to propel you toward beneficial transformation. Therefore, next time your raw nerves are exposed, you can observe what is occurring, take a deep breath, and get ready to spread your wings. Before you know it, you will welcome button-pushers and perceive dealing with how they cause you to feel as a step closer to enlightenment.
