4 Ways To Stop Acting Like A Controlling and Jealous Girlfriend

Acting like an out-of-control woman is the quickest way to ruin a relationship. If you want a healthy, long-term relationship with your boyfriend you cannot act like a controlling and jealous girlfriend. Here are four ways to stop acting like that insecure girlfriend.

1. Stop bombarding him with texts

If you don't want to be an annoying girlfriend, stop sending him so many texts. If he hasn't replied to you yet, don't text him again until he does. The more you text him without hearing back from him, the more annoyed you will both become. He will become annoyed because you're being impatient and you will be annoyed because he's not replying. Don't act like a woman who has nothing better to do than keep tabs on him. Stop texting him your every move. He really doesn't care that you're going to the shoe store and then getting a burger for lunch. Become a woman of mystery.

2. Don't go to his friends with relationship problems

When you and your boyfriend have a fight, don't go to his friends or family looking for support. Don't contact them when he stops replying to your texts because he's angry. Don't ask them to be the middleman in your relationship. It's not fair to them and not fair to your boyfriend either. It's important that you work out your problems and concerns with him and him alone. Friends and family are not peacemakers or therapists.

3. Stop being so clingy

Being clingy is a sign of jealousy. If you need to be with your boyfriend 24/7, it's possible that you don't trust him as much as you think you do. If you are threatened by boys' nights out, this can cause tension in your relationship. You need to be secure enough to let your boyfriend out of your sight now and then. You cannot text and call him constantly in order to know his every move. Don't expect to tag along with him wherever he goes. You might be the most amazing girlfriend that he loves to show off, but that doesn't mean you'll automatically be invited everywhere he goes.

4. Don't hold him to a strict routine

Keeping your boyfriend on a tight leash is a bad idea if you want a healthy relationship. Your boyfriend might text you every day when he's off of work, but if one day he doesn't text you for an hour, don't lose your cool. People get held up with projects, talking to other people, or simply wanting a change in routine. Don't expect your boyfriend to do the exact same thing day after day and then be mad at him when he doesn't. Holding your boyfriend to a strict routine is very controlling.

Lighten up.. If you stop acting like a jealous and controlling girlfriend, you'll have a happier and healthier relationship.
