Did I miss somethin'?

Before I get into this let me explain something. I was raised on southern manners i.e. pulling out a chair for a lady or paying for dinner and a movie, holding doors open and such. Well apparently to todays society this is no longer acceptable scold . Now I know that some people still appreciate good manners, but whats the world coming to when a person gets pissed off because you're nice/polite dunno? I didn't know holding a door open for a young lady was an offense punishable by beating. I guess I must have missed the memo that went around. Anywho cheers heres to all the ladies who still appreciate a guy with manners and to guys who still know how to treat a lady.

I, too, was blessed with family who taught me the value of good Southern manners. I always appreciate a man who opens the door for me and pulls out my chair, no matter what his age. Good for you for knowing how to treat a lady. angel

Thank you to you and all those who still offer courtesy and exercise good manners.

I do not assume anymore that doors will be held or chairs will be pulled but when they are I say thank you and smile.

I also hold doors after I go through them so as not to let the person behind me get smacked in the face but I am rethinking that because you can end up standing there for several minutes while everyone pushes through - without a glance or a word of thanks!

AS for those who get angry when offered kindness or caring, these are probably the same people who wonder why their relationships don't work.

People spend their time 'looking' for happiness and joy in the meantime refusing all the gifts they are offered through out their day, the car that slows to let you cross the road, smile from a passing stranger, door hel, good morning spoken, prayer offered.

It really does not matter if it was a gift you would not have chosen, if you are not a mother and I wish you happy mother's day, accept the happy and say thank you.

It is so nice to hear that there are still men out there who know how to treat a lady! Even though I like to be independent, it is really heartwarming when a gentleman opens a door for me, or walks on the traffic side of the sidewalk! Ahhh...those were the days! And hopefully there are more gentlemen like you out there wine

Good Manners are a Good Thing. I have yet to meet a woman who appreciates good manners. All women care about is how much money they can steal from a man.

If my comments are offensive to the ladies, then ONE of them should prove me wrong by reciprocating with some good manners of her own, rather than being here just for the money that she scams from a male counterpart.

Glad to hear there is still a few guys out there that still have southern manners.. I was raised in a family that is the same way. I appreciate good manners and respect and also know how to give it in return because it was the way I was taught. Thanks for staying true to your ways,

God Bless

Lora
