Miracles do happen!
We were in the flight, Sarah, a close friend, appointed as my assistant during my trip this time still could not believe she was actually going to Bangkok. She has heard a lot about Bangkok. The street food, the weekend market, the shopping malls, the night life’s scene. She’s been dreaming of Bangkok. She was so excited when I asked her to accompany me, especially this will be her first time abroad. During the flight she smiled even giggled sometime.“Thanks for taking me with you”, she said, looking at me like she really meant it.
“No. I need you to assist me, that is why you are here. You know the fashion trend, what’s in and out. I need you to shop for me”.
“But still, I’ve never dreamed of it if it was not you asking me. I will make it up to you. I will take you here, someday. Then we’re even”, she looked far away, not sure of what she has just said.
I was struck both of her intention and unsureness as well.
“Really? Wow! Thank you!”.
“Yeah right, as if I will be able to. I don’t even have a job at the moment”, she’s giving a sarcastic smile, laughing at herself.
“Well, your wish is written and will come true, someday, somehow”.
“Haha! How?”, she laughed sarcastically again.
“Pray”.
“Yeah right, pray. Only when we need something”, she shake her head, “as if I believe… Only miracle can make it come true”.
“Miracles do happen”.
“I don’t believe it!”.
“Believe it, and it will come true”, I convinced her.
5 minutes later a flight attendant announced they will have a lucky draw . Turn out that this is their first flight to Bangkok, and they will choose 10 persons to be given ticket Jakarta-Bangkok return for 2 person. I told Sarah she’s gonna be one of the winner. She laughed, “Never in my life, I won a lucky draw”, she said. “There’s always a first time for everything”, I answered.
First winner announced. Then second winner. Third winner her seat was called. I screamed, “Yes! You won!”. “What?!”, she asked me, shockingly. The officer approached her seat. Gave her the voucher. She asked me to have it, I shaked my head. She told me it’s mine since I was the one who bought us ticket. I told her, it’s her seat number that was called, so it’s her. She looked at the voucher, still could not believe it. And she murmured “I will take you to Bangkok with this”. “Sure you will”, I smiled at her. She shake her head, “I still can’t believe it”. I just smile and said “I told you, miracles do happen”.
