Love, Loss, Moving on

Why does it hurt so bad to talk to you?
When will these feelings learn they can't be true?
When will my heart be through,
Through with the love I once held for you?

Deep breath,
I know I can move on,
A woman's heart can be so strong,
As I try just to forget your soft sweet touch...

I know you aren't mine,
But what I seem find,
Is that you were once in time,
But times change,
Feelings fade,
And your love went to her from mine.

Alright

I see that you love her,
She must be your lover by now...
Sorry I couldn't let myself be just another...
No I won't appologize,
It's just how I feel inside...

You have got to understand,
You used to be my man,
But now it just upsets me.

Won't shed another tear,
This much is clear,
The pain is fresh and raw,
But my soul is strong and I move on.

So here we are,
I can be your friend,
But you must never hold me again,
Your touch I can no longer bare...

wine I really liked your poem-it says alot about my last relationship-I found out time does heal old wounds and that sometimes friendship is better than what we tried to have....Thanks!!

i love this poem. it sort of describes my last relationship. but i told him i didnt want to be friends.

thank you all for your support. it is about a real relationship, one that left me a little gun shy if you will. i loved him as much as i think i could love anyone, but he loved his x, and so had no room left for me in his heart. that hurt alot to find out...
