I must be a plebeian. I don't know him.
I googled his name and found out he died of natural causes at 70 years of age...never heard of him either!!
The fact that you have missed him...he must have made an impact somewhere...despite not knowing him in North America...rest in peace...
At the period we only saw the only the most popular British and US Music in South Africa, so we never got to see his - and many other great artists' - music here. Sorry.
