Probably not the right place to ask but - why is your lovely daughter illegitimate, which of you doesn't feel there's enough commitment there to bother with signing up for that piece of paper?

I have no issues with people living together until they shrivel into dust,but this huge surge in the numbers of people making babies with other people they wouldn't dream of committing to fascinates me.

Actually, the more I think about it, this is definitely not the right place / blog to ask.
