Down for the count
Was unloading heavy pallet contents off skids in a truck. While removing one my left foot snagged on shrink wrap and slipped between the planks of the pallet. Down I went while the foot was thus immobilized. SNAP! Will be off work for a few weeks I guess.Observations: Opening the farm gate while on crutches was fun, very hard to carry a full cup of coffee from room 1 to room 2 while using crutches, catching cats who don't wish to be caught is hard on crutches, etc.

Get better quick! There's critters out there that need huntin' this Fall!
Hmmm. Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned "Fall".
How 'bout, "...need huntin' this AUTUMN"?
Take care.

Not a chance in hell I would clean someone else's oven by the way.

I'm sorry that, that happen to you huh. Maybe! Try soaking your feet in some Apple Acider Vinegar & water. And take your meds too!
PS; May you heal sooner then expected...
Hope you recover quickly from it Ken.. sending GET WELL wishes to you.
I had to go to the GP then the hospital today with a secondary infection in my foot. They took half an hour taking blood and my arms are a mess.
My antibiotics have made me feel really ill. I'm not allowed in the sun with these tablets and I imagine that swimming is out? In the pool anyway.
But the timing couldn't be worse as I'm off to visit my friend in Spain tomorrow for a week.
I hope to wake up when I return as I finish the medication on the day I get home home.
The doctor said that if I don't see an improvement straight away I'm to go straight back. Rather a long way to go!
I know! think positive! I could have broken something.
Speedy recovery to you!
Angel, LoL, one says cold packs, you say soak. Neither is possible. Should I stick the cast with foot inside into my icebox? No that is prohibited as the cold cast would attract moisture upon removal and the application of direct cold packs is impossible while the cast is in place. Likewise I have been warned that getting the cast wet may invalidate any workman's compensation claim due to intentional disregarding of medical instruction to not allow the cast to become wet. Yes, I purchased ($15) a cast protector (2 actually, one for the house, one for the truck) in case I have to go out in, or be caught in the rain.
See you in a week!
