Kisa Gotami.

Kisa Gotami was a wife of a wealthy man.

After losing her only child, Kisa Gotami became desperate and asked if anyone can help her to bring the child back to life.

An old man told her to meet Buddha. Buddha told her that before he could bring the child back to life, she should find white mustard seeds from a family where no one had died.

She desperately went from house to house, but to her disappointment, she could not find a house that had not suffered the death of a family member.

Finally the realization struck her that there is no house free from mortality.

Although it is good to live hundred years , it is better to live every single day of life to the fullest, knowing that death is imminent.

G, I was talking about Tamil tea workers indeed. There was a landslide that buried about 2 miles of line houses of tea estate workers. it is believed that hundreds of people were buried alive. 75 children who attended school came home to find out nothing but everything buried in mud and they are orphaned. It is a collective effort of supplying the survivors with basics. I am just taking part in a good cause. sigh

I like this blog. It is so true. We know not when the end comes. Not for us, not for family members and not for the person you just passed in the street.
