Trekkies?

I'm probably the only Trekkie* on CS. But I did think Virgin's attempt into space was a tiny step towards the fiction of Zefram Cochrane, and it is so sad that it has ended so disastrously. Thinking of the families of the pilots - their names would have gone down in history. Still will, of course, but not so happily.

I like all the treks but DS9 in probably my favorite series, and First Contact is my favorite movie lol.
On a serious note, you are not the only trekkie in here.

On a more serious note, the loss of a life is a tragedy and I hope (somehow) they get to the bottom of the cause and prevent further loss of life.
Ken, I hadn't heard so much detail - I had heard one dead, and one seriously injured and imagine anything involving an exploding craft would be pretty serious. Shocked to hear that these were issues already experienced and resolved.

Track, you preferred First Contact to The Voyage Home? jaw drop conversing
Chameleon, glad to hear I'm not only the only one, I'm not the only female wave can't remember who it was that said "my interest is in the future, since I will live there", but ditto. From what Ken wrote it seems those who don't study history are fated to relive it.
I have "trekked" across sand dunes and forests... does that count?
Er, no. Thanks for playing. laugh
