WAR IS WAGED ON FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION

Across Europe, especially in France, politicians have decided to wage war on freedom of expression. An eight year old was questioned by the French police, apparently for praising terrorists.Humorists have been questioned and fined because of the nature of their humor.

Projects are currently going on to limit freedom of expression even in the United States. So where are we heading to?

How far are you willing to give up your freedom? By the way, how will restriction on freedom solve political, religious and world problems?

Hypocrisy or security? OR Are we moving towards North Korea way of freedom of expression? Then why do we criticise the North?

Currently, there are discussions about controlling internet, telephones, and you may be in trouble with the type of conversation you are involved in.
Normally in law, no one can be prosecuted for his views, but that is rapidly changing. In the future, your views will be defended in courts.
to tell you the truth I prefer that internet and telephone conversations to be controlled
for security on all levels
this does not go against freedom of expression
that is a security enforcement
the sooner the better
I prefer to think that it is already in place thumbs up yay cheering
This war has been ongoing since the days of the Peter Zenger trial (1735). Nothing new about it. Those of us who advocate Freedom of Speech sometimes forget this sword cuts (as it should) both ways. The other side gets to make cartoons too. That is cool with me.
what about news papers??confused
If there is a war being waged on the "Freedom of Speech" and all that other sfuff...Then so be it...But One must remember....For a war to be going on...There has to be resistence to the other side...And besides ,if there is ,its because the People are allowing it....The People have the Power...If theyre talking about Terroism...Then there should be a Law and it should be enforced...Period.....................When Freedom of Speech eventually leads to People being killed as a result.of the Freedom of Speech..Then it should be Squashed in its Infancy........................detective
I agree with cat, freedom of speech should not be there to hurt other people. It's one thing having an opinion it's another thing stirring up men to anger. We should be free to say our piece but when we openly provoke with that pure intention of doing so we are asking for trouble. JMHO
Cartoons about Prophet Muhammad are for sure stirring up men's anger and it did not only killing people from the News Paper,it killed several people, that was not involved and did not had any intention to stirring anybodies anger.

If we drive fast and put other in danger,we are fined for that and if we drive over somebody and are reason to somebody's death,we are in Jail and it is because we are the reason, but when somebody make cartoons and they are the reason why some very innocent people are now dead, they are just prised for that and most people are even supporting them to make more reason,to stirring up men's anger and to kill more.

If I go and moch some 3-4 men that is together on the street, about their out look or what cloth they have,I'm 100 % sure that I,m going to be beaten up badly and in some cases, even could be killed,so why should we believe, that mocking Prophet Muammad can be done without concequences????

Where is the protecting Law here,is the Western world a double Faced and double standard society????!!!!

Terrorism, shmerrorism... this is all going in the wrong direction and has been since at least 2000. This is not new. It's just that you become conscious of it now. I have no problem with freedom of speech even if I don't agree with it.

Restrictions will solve nothing, except keep the people dumb. The fewer voices are heard, the less informed the people are and the more lies governments can tell us.

How many people would sign up for war if they knew the truth behind the motivations.
Ken,

You looks to support that Wild West trend and when the street war is going to build up in Europe as it almost sure are going to do,it is going to be much like a Wild West, but guns are still not what I feel is good in everybody's hands!

Rolf
Actually TV speakers and humourists must know that there are limits when childs are the public who listen their words.

Already many countries have laws about restrict contents for adults.
If the problem in the western societies is "extremism", then we only need to stop the construction of mosques in our cities and towns.

"How many christian churches do we have in Saudi Arabia?
remember,at one point turning the Other Cheek causes you to run out of Cheeks!professor
