I was (still am) under the impression that the Canaries in the Atlantic (of the West African coast) was named after dogs.
Also, my info also says that the hundred years war (1337 to 1453) was fought in France for control of France with Joan of Arc (1412-1431) featuring at the height of it.
Could find nothing yet to contradict it yet, only confirmation so far. Not intended to be finicky; only trying to get my database right.
