DEAD CROWS

I love birds and so took this seriously when I first got it in email from a friend ...but reading on,see the joke ...this one's for Nam with his Truckin Blog! head banger'

Mysterious Crow Deaths blues'

A fact you won't soon forget...Researchers for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority found over 200 dead crows near greater Boston recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. confused

A Bird Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be vehicular impacts.

However, during the detailed analysis it was noted that varying colors of paints appeared on the bird's beaks and claws.

By analyzing these paint residues it was determined that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, while only 2% were killed by an impact with a car.

MTA then hired an Ornithological Behaviorist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of truck kills versus car kills.

He very quickly concluded the cause:'idea

When crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger.

They discovered that while all the look-out crows could shout "Cah", not a single one could shout "Truck."

wave We get big ones here. Don't see many hit by Trucks though.
They are very intelligent, and they actually have a diverse
vocabulary up to 20 different sounds. If a Farmer kills one
for instance it is communicated through the local birds to avoid
this location. They usually just walk aside when a vehicle comes by. Of course there are morons who run them over with intent. Any multitude of dead Crows here are tested for the deadly strain. Never harm one, they are the gateway to the
other side.cheers
Pedal...lightbulb Yep and the "Cah" part of the joke is funnier when you think of how people who live in Boston pronounce the word "car"...conversinglaugh
wave True that, Americans speak funny English to begin with.

Yeah, like when AF tested their anti-ballistic missile laser in the skies over Hawaii five years ago and as far away as Louisiana and Mississippi thousands of starlings and other high fliers dropped from the sky with their retinas burned out.
Hi Avias,
I must remember not to read your blogs again before breakfast. It hurts my stomach when I laugh on an empty stomach.laugh

Nam & all who who read the blog... I lived in Boston briefly and so this blog rings a bell for me...how often I heard that accent and not "car" but "cah" is typical Bostonian......then being from Missouri, my way of speaking was noticeably not like everyone around me. We may not realize it but our location where we live definitely influences our speech! And let's hope that the crows have found another way to signal "Truck"laugh thumbs up
!
poor crows cant say truck no wonder they get hit by more trucks then cahs
Hi Puppy...Welcome to the crow blogs & thanks for your comment! Maybe crows in Idaho don't have this troublegrin thumbs up
