Love Is A Decision
Love is not based on a feeling onlyThere must also be a clear decision
Passionate feelings may die off early
Showing it was just infatuation
One should not need another as a crutch
But be able to stand on one's feet
This will allow each other space as such
And enrichen the sharing when both meet
A love relationship has its demands
It does not ensure smooth sailing always
Be mindful of this in each circumstance
And it will help you survive the rough days
The one that you love should be your best friend
Someone with whom you can share everything
A person upon whom you can depend
In situations that may be trying
As time passes, both of you will change
For change is inevitable in life
Do not consider this as something strange
Learn to adjust and avoid any strife
True love is the most precious emotion
That a person can engage in sharing

What is LOVE?
L O V E is only a four-letter word meaning great things... It has driven some people crazy, made some others do very unusual things.., has inspired some great artists, while others have taken their own life because of it...some have even committed murder for an impossible love but, in some countries, you can even get away with it as it would be classed as a "crime of passion".
Many great plays, movies and songs are based on Love...
But does anyone really have a clue of what Love is?
Is it about physical attraction and passion, possession, ownership, obsession etc.?
Would anyone actually recognize it if it hit you in the face?
Would it scare you and make you run away..?
Can anyone really say that they love themselves?
Probably not!
Then, this is the answer to my first question...
If you cannot love yourself first, how can you expect to love anyone, or anyone else to love you????
In order to change the world and humanity, we must first love ourselves and others - preferably u n c o n d i t i o n a l l y, then change our vibrations, get rid of those low frequency emotions of Anger, Fear, Blame, Guilt etc., learn to forgive, and raise them to the Love Vibrations...

yup "love" is a decision - Love is our intellect's desire for what is true and good. Love is something we do or give. It is the basis of a relationship with trust, as we can decide for ourselves what we want to do. Love is support -it is a choice, it's a way of being. Love is an actions.
this reminds me the discourse between Diotima and Socrates in Plato's Symposium....pretty interesting.... "love as the everlasting possession of the good".

There is absolutely no doubt that Love involves a very special feeling for another person as you stated.
Yes, respect is an important component of love.
Giving each other space is also vital, as you mentioned.

Allowing each other space is synonymous with trusting, which is integral in a love relationship.

Apparently, there is a difference between “falling in love” and “loving”.
“Falling in love” may be based mainly on a feeling, but “loving” involves something more. It requires a clear and conscious decision of love.
