A Warning Shot Across The Bow

Here’s a moment in time each of you will want to take a moment and write down. It may turn out to be a pivotal point in the time of this country, in fact, this earth. Yes, that is no exaggeration and obviously not because the act came from none other than our own economic empires. On the verge of the major global climate change summet in Paris, top officials of the leading US food suppliers, namely the CEO’s of General Mills, Inc.; Mars, Inc.; Unilever; Nestle USA; Kellogg Co.; Danon (Danone Dairy North America); Ben & Jerry’s; Stonyfield Farm, Inc.; Clif Bar; and New Belgium Brewing Co. have made it known that they are strongly in favor of world wide carbon remissions. In simple words boys and girls, they are acknowledging the existence and concern about global warming by way of higher than normal carbon emissions into the atmosphere.

What on earth, you might say. Well folks, it’s simple. The big boys in the food industry have been employing their science experts to find out what all this global warming means to their future revenue’s and they finally have their answer. It’s not going to get better if we don’t do something very soon. So if it doesn’t get better, there not only isn’t any food to sell … there won’t be any customers to buy it. Remember, these are business men and they are only interested in one simple thing – money. So, in the aforementioned scenario, their business, cushy jobs and nice bonuses will all stop. The scary part is that if most of these men and women are middle aged, they are worried this would happen in the next couple of decades, at most.

Granted, there are a great deal of differing opinions from many reliable and valid sources, but for some reason some of the most powerful people in industry are starting to worry about the possibility and fallout of a global disaster in our food supply. Personally I have read a great deal of science on both sides of the argument and I must admit that all of it is compelling, but that being the case, I think I would want to lean towards the side of being more conservative and take the corrective actions. After all, if I am wrong, there is no harm, no foul. But if I’m right and there is a problem, the outcome could be devastating, if not the end of human life, perhaps even life on this planet. I think what tips the balance for me was that bit of research that came out of NASA, confirmed by the US geographical survey. It stated that during the period of “no fly”, right after 9/11 there was a measured and confirmed reduction of atmospheric temperature of a full one degree. Three days (I think) of no high flying commercial aircraft and the temperature dropped a full degree? When you consider the effects of 100+ years of burning coal, wood, oil, etc and all the stuff going into the atmosphere, there has to be a saturation point and an effect.

Only time will tell, but at least you know that the makers of your favorite foods have taken a position. What’s yours?

Well, I am ready to go, my transport is arranged. super transport transport
Very few crops grow well when the temperature passes 140 degrees.

Also window air conditioners don't work well at that temp either.
