Women in Islam
Salam to All, I am an active member of CS especially at the forums. since I joined, I have noticed threads that are discussing Islam issues posted by non-Muslims. It is truly Ok to ask or discuss any issue or topic you like, it is your right. However, in most threads if not all of them, it is used to bash and undermine Islam including Muslims especially from those that are less educated about Islam but more influenced by passive media.
It truly hurts me how some members behave aggressively by giving themselves the upper level of intelligence and knowledge to undermine more than one billion Muslims around the world most of them are non-Arab including those billions and billions Muslims that lived for the past 1400 years. Also, discarding and ignoring such Islamic civilization that existed for the past 1400 years which contributed immensely to the current science of mathematics, medicine, chemistry, astronomy, literature, art, finance and many many more of fields of science and sociology.
The last discussion was related to women issues especially the issue of France President Mr. Sarkozy comments about Muslim Women Veil. I did my best to point out the views and thoughts behind such issue in Islam which is not necessarily for you to accept but at least to understand and respect. This youtube video is also my input for you to be more informed about women in Islam including the issue of the Veil from a western American Muslim. He is doing a great job to introduce Islam and spread the word about Islam all around the world for people to be informed and not necessarily to be converted to Islam.
PS: IMHO, there is NO conversion of religion. I believe that all religions are continuation and completion to each other. They all praise for one God; Brahman, Yahweh, Father of Jesus and Allah.

trust me not only bout Islam,also about Christianity!I was told never discuss religion or politics,but its an open forum!!

I trust you and agree that such discussion should be on privet bases between two individuals who they are interested to have a relation and come to terms on mutual understanding. 
we are here at Connecting Singles not open debates to all. IMHO, open debates should be about relationships and family related issues.
However, still there are people who like to find a place to enforce their own opinions on everybody after they were rejected by the closest individuals around them
I think that it damages their image more than the self satisfaction that they are looking for.

This is the first and may be the last time I post on this forum. I want to let you know that the intelligent, rational and approachable way you have raised this issue and expressed your feelings is really excellant.
The accuracy of your analysis and the diplomacy of your words are really encouraging.
I haven't watched the youtube video because I'm on a slow 'dial up'connection. (It takes too long to download)
I don't personally agree with the veil, but like you, I advocate a 'live and let live' world.
You write: "I believe that all religions are continuation and completion to each other." This is one of the most healthy, loving and enlightened comments I have heard in a long while :)

please please 
don't leave us alone hear at CS. It is people such as yourself that we need so much around hear. People with tolerance, open minded and most importantly respectful to the other people opinions.
The beauty of mankind is the diversity of intellect and variety of soul colors. It is people like yourself that can contain such beauty and reflect it upon humanity.
We have a saying in Arabic:
"Eyes of blessing and Satisfaction see goodness while the eyes of Hatred? and Discontent see only the badness".
So, please we, your brothers and sisters, needs your eyes such eyes to stand by our side to make this world better place and life worth living.

Welcome to the court of public opinion... where anyone or a group of people can be judged by anyone with an opinion, (regardless of whether it is actually a proven fact.)
Or, if they haven't got enough brain-power to think on their own repeat what they heard which is usually the case. The problem is that the majority of people do not think on their own.
In America the popular saying used to be "opinions are like assholes-everyone has one."

I hear you my friend, I truly do but can we do more than our best to help them as much as we can, hoping that a sense of Righteousness my prevail and they can accept others as much they would like themselves to be accepted.
However, the bottom is exactly what you have just said; if they just repeat what others are telling them, then how in the world we could have a respectable open channel of dialogue?? 
without such dialogue, (god forbids)unfortunate repercussions will make the whole world suffer more than we are right now
may God help us all.

It is rather unfortunate and censorial that you are saying an open forum should only be about family/relationship issues...is that not being opinionated then?
I dislike all religions, I think blind devotion and adherence to a so called 'God' displays a childlike mentality - always the need for comfort. And seeing as this is a western democracy - I will express myself on whichever forum I like on whichever topic I like.
I am not disrespectful of religion to the point where I would condemn or make personal attacks on others. Live, and let live, is pretty much my motto. But if I were religious I'm not so sure my motto would hold...

And do you know what? The tone of all your messages are really patronising. I find them offensive because you seem to think you're right and everyone else is wrong. You think that God knows best, and that you can interpret his laws best by the looks of things.
I'm just thankful I don't live in a muslim country.

This is odd, you write this....but you are guilty of the same thing. You are just repeating the religion you have been raised on. Do you ever question your beliefs? Or is it dishonoourable or sinful to do so?
Praise for God? Man created God, 'my friend'; not the other way about.
I suppose you will take issue with me now, in your sanctimonious fashion? Please, before you do, remember I have a right to my beliefs, just as you have defended yours.
