I have been very fortunate that my battle scars are not very visible. I have often wondered about the women who had things much worse than I did. I would fight tooth and nail to assist any woman is a situation such as your own. People say I would be crazy to do that and risk my own safety, but it would not be my safety that would be in question. One would be surprised at what I can accomplish.
My door is always open to you and others in the same situation that you were in. Call on me anytime. You are one brave lady.
No, the brave thing to do would have been to get a glock, and put a hallow point right in his cranium. Not to be a lucky survivor, and not a statistic. Now she is the one eye love.

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed woman is queen.
Anyway You look a lot better off than that boy Jack Sparrow (or Joe Spuggie) as my buddy calls him.
Good to see your taking those first steps. The hardest bit is starting - after that just get it into a routine and practise out-ballsing people(the ones who judge) like by being louder and more effusive than them and you'll be fine after a while as people accept you rather than thinking you've arrived from a film set.
Cheers!

Handymanrichie..now I am starting to think you get off on being a jerk.
Woulda coulda shoulda.....have you ever been in an abusive relationship that almost caused you your life? She does not have a time machine and cannot go back and do the unhelpful things you suggested. She is a DAMN brave women and don't you ever forget that! She is putting herself out here and willing to move on from her wounds. Who gives a damn if she has one eye or two. Some good man out there will find her imperfections as the final piece to what they consider perfection.
She is a survivor and she is statistic and at the end of the they they pale in comparison of what can and will be.

Hello and Welcome to CS!
I, too, was a victim of domestic violence 18 years ago to a young man that I was dating. I lost the hearing in my right ear from beatings upon my head that caused my ear drum to blow out. While it took a part of my soul for a time, it never took my spirit. In time, I healed, became an ordained non-denominational minister and am happy and content with myself and with life.
Take as much time as you need to heal, make friends, find inner peace and may you always be happy. One day, you'll find Mr.Right. I'm so pleased to meet you!
