Chess is a game of kings.
Or it’s a game with Kings. Also checkers.
Anyway, this is about chess. It’s a game all about strategy & thought, where prowess comes not from
bicep or speed in a footrace but with one’s ability to think smartest & quickest.
For the past 200+ years or more, the top chess players in the world have been considered among the smartest & cleverest people in the whole
world, but their names are largely unknown.

time & what countries they’re from. Fascinating stuff

This data was culled from three different sources of chess records-keeping. Some of the stats, especially with regard to the top player at any given time, are pretty staggering.
