collateral damage

The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was it justified?

War is is a dirty business and yet it seems man never learns.

Does anyone feel that we're yet again heading to a possible extinction of mankind?

Note: if in fact, our earth is billion of years old, was it possible to have achieved such a technological marvel that killed mankind once or many a times?

Just curious.

Thanks all for your reads or comments if any.

Ed, thanks it can be possible from a stand point of Christian. From man and his potential motivation of greed and power I'm sure we're doomed to be all victims.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki were justified. although had those bobs been dropped on the emperor instead of innocent people..would have been a better move. But we were in our Atomic infancy and needed real data, and those 2 drops are returning important data to this very day professor

We will ultimately destroy ourselves. its not a matter of how, only a matter of when dunno

Population overgrowth can only mean eventual extinction uh oh
This I did post on a blog some 7 years ago...
Evidence of aircraft...or flying machines, engraved in caves & temples thousands of years old...before the idea of aircraft was actually conceived by modern man.

D anything we write creates an impact to all who read them. If can be good and or bad depending on their point of view. But everything is debatable to me no black or white. However we can't control what others feel. This is a place where we're allowed to write just about anything and each one's action is not my responsibility. We're all adults and if I write something that causes fear then that's not my control.

Having said that we're subject to the owner's rule as to what we can write or not. All I can say is that you write good stuff and enjoy my learning on all of them.bouquet
Robbywave thanks for your response. We must have been writing at the same time of the same thoughts.

Anyways on the absence of fossil, it is hard to scientifically claim hence the speculation but as far as the pyramids and some archeological items unearthed leads me to believe there was.

The absence of records on the Stonehenge and pyramids suggests a marvel at science one or many times achieved.
B thanks for the added proof that can confirm possibilities. I tend to believe we've made such a remarkable and immensely advanced society and possibly destroyed by the same ingenuity.
Hey LJ, Pearl Harbor was devastating to the American ego, but killing 80,000 or more at Hiroshima is unforgivable. If you want to play war games then it's between soldiers and soldiers, not innocent women and children....that's just not right....the Japanese did hit hit a military base......sometimes us Americans do some reprehensible things such as My Lai.....sad flower
You're welcome D. Responsible dispense if information is what we must all attempt to do, at least to me. I elaborate on topics that are prevalent and not unsubstantiated by what us already published (political). We're like newspaper or television channel sometimes I want to share and learn what I'm reading out there. Just because we write them don't mean we support them. Anyways carry on dear lady.
Sands you may feel it that way but to me the aggressor is always to blame. I can assure you no one is innocent in every game played depending on what stand you support. Vietnam War was vicious yet the idea of communism as laid out by North Vietnam triggered American involvement.

Thus is not about who's done this or not this is about a specific case yet might lead us to think where the world is possibly heading.
But Lindsy... you still haven´t mentioned my comment which is relevant to YOUR topic?

You asked a question: " Does anyone feel that we're yet again heading to a possible extinction of mankind?"

to which I talked about the Georgian Guidestones...
This is 3 times that this has been avoided already.
help
D my apologies I'm ignorant about that and let me research about them. You see I'm learning new about new things every day D.
blame shame LJ whatever, war is about fight between countries soldiers not civilians. Assads killing over 1,000 of women and children is not war, but terrorism at its finest.....

Shame has nothing to do with it. For as long a world is politically driven by greed and power then shame is the least considered on the equation or goal.
In your context LJ using the word blame is just a conduit to the word shame.....yes totally meaningless...

Pop corn get your hot buttered popcorn the shows just starting

to answer your blog question in a more rounded perspective.....the mosquito is going to do us all in.......grin
If we are talking collateral damage casualties both military and civilian

USSR 20 MILLION
JAPAN 2.5 MILLION

JMHO
Well the instigator takes the responsibility of blame or would you just be a victim by choice?

If you punch a kid, would you expect no retaliation?
Your point has no relevance to my post. The question is, is it justified? You said war should only be against soldiers. I am not disagreeing with that but in all practicality war is war and everything and everyone in its path is a victim.
Let's have some of your popcorn Blue with a cup of tea waiting for guidance from the stones.
listen carefully LJ, it's not justified if civilians are a part.....simply...comprendie ........the hospital in Syria two days ago.....not justified....killing doctors not justified......
And numbers keep on rising. Mao about 45? And it's not even a war. Stalin killed without war.

These are the guidestones in Georgia.
Love I'm in the same position like you. And it's sad that we resort to such measures in order to end an aggression.
I have been thinking about the possibility that there must have been more developed and civilized world before us Rob. But of course that is just my own personal opinion.

As to the presence of extra terrestial, or other beings from other planes and or other galaxies, I believe that too. If we are just but a tiny speck from this wide and unscaled universe, then what a waste of space.

War is a war, it is designed for man's demise. Any country or people involved in its path suffer a great deal of unspeakable atrocities. Why do we get involved? Again, to draw a certain conclusion that can't be achieved by peaceful means. It is very sad because it just proves that man is a war monger.
LJ, ok, this is my last shot....any cruelty to civilians from any opposing force is not warranted.....any time, any place any situation.....
Sands, no war is not a casualty of life, man is a casualty of war and the future of this earth. Since you mentioned about all these creation, and seems to be so at ease about them, what do you propose to do? This is not a debate and or discussion as to the limit or limitless ability of man to create tools that just might end our humanity. That is a different topic all to its own.
Lou, stick with my question, what have you done so far about the terrorism that are committed against humanity and at random civilians? Forget about Trump. I support him and you will never see my point but my question is that.
You make me laugh Sands. Don't tell me, tell the genius who created them and yes, I am with you. Question is, what have you done so far to stop them? Do you even know how much Korea, Russia, China, Us and the world has? Do you have any idea why they have them? Let alone why it is imperative that they are created?
With due respect Ed, we have as much right (believers) as them who don't believe to say anything they want. I don't dispute that and as a matter of fact, if and when these acts are precedence to the revelation, I can't dispute that either and I believe. Thank you as always with your participation and opinions Ed.bouquet
It is very obvious that your country is different from ours when it comes to approach to the muslim terrorism Lou. Perhaps because you have not incurred casualties like we have which I am surprised you seem in denial of? 9/11, San Bernardino of the latest and the fact that they declare openly to hate us? And was it not proven that while there are legitimate refugees, there are more accounted for of them as not? And with the approach of our GOP aspirants (unanimous, Trump and Cruz) of not wanting them in our soil until, until our protection and security is checked. You would never understand that and it is okay, you are not a US citizen, your interest is not same as ours, at least those that support Trump like me and the Republicans.
And no, I haven't heard any position you stand on against these terrorism as though they are not happening. You are lucky Lou because you are not affected but talking about civilian casualties, it was reported that there is about 700,000 killed by them around the world, last year alone. There is only about 6 billion potential victims, don't you say? What are you proposing to end it? Nothing we can do, as far as you are concerned, right? Well thank God, my possible leaders have some plans and they don't agree with you. Who are you?
Your welcome!!

Again, nice blog!!

hug
Thanks Ed, and I hope all is fine with you. I still hope that one day we will meet for one of the Russian Festival in the Redwood counties.bouquet wave
All I am saying Lou is that your interest is obviously not in the same flow as ours, at least those that support Trump. I am and enough said about this.

I am sure you will be so happy if he is not going to be elected, and that too, I understand, for right now, he is gaining more momentum.
Now that is something I can truly say thanks Lou and I am indeed lucky that I don't live there. But that doesn't stop me from trying to find a solution.

Thank you.wine
I cried when I visited the Hiroshima site. It was heartbreaking to read the stories of innocent children. They had been to school as normal that day. Their skin melted into their lunch boxes. How can war and its impact on life ever be justified. More so, how can the taking the lives of innocent children ever be justified.....
@cruiser..so two wrongs make a right ?

hit the decision makers...not the fodder..
