Foods that are anti cancer

One thing about being at the hospital so often is that it reminds us how fragile our body is. Without a healthy body it is very difficult for us to enjoy life not to mention the cost we incur specially if insurance is not available and even if it is, the co pay is eating us alive.

Anyways, on one of my visit to a friend who is there on and off for lung cancer, there was an open discussion about what food to eat to prevent cancer.

Just google "cancer fighting foods" and you would be surprised at the array of fruits and vegetables that appear on the screen.

But for purposes of this discussion, the Doctor that was in charge of the open meeting specially mentioned four particular foods that truly beats cancer and that makes us very healthy. Here they are:

Salmon, spinach, peas, and potatoes. With the exception of potatoes, I eat most of them in addition with my bitter melon, and all Asian vegetables that are not always available at the supermarket. On the farmer's market however, depending on where you live, it might be of abundance. In California, the organic grown vegetables sold on the open market season which is mostly from May to September, offer many of these rather rare but very healthy induced greens. In Bakersfield, the Golden farmer market, is open all year round on weekends.

Anyways, at my age, and have since dodged two cancers (1994, and 2014), I am feeling so young and very healthy. I do 100 push ups a day and go to the gym as diligently as possible.

Question: How important is health to you? Sometimes, until we see people who are really afflicted due to negligence, we do check in our practices and sometimes, it is too late.

Note: Sadly, most of those attendees on the said meeting were all obese and very unhealthy but it is better late than never, I guess.

That is all and have a good healthy day for all of us.

Don't forget, google "cancer beating foods." Start investing in our health.teddybear bouquet

no matter what you do .. you're still gonna croak by age 60 or 70. If you don't by that age, you'd be praying god to die so it's even worse. I therefore say, ignore these trivia and focus on enjoying the few days you were given on this earth instead.
By the way, there is abundance of omega 3 fatty acids which is good for our body, on fish but if you are not fond of eating these rather smelly food then there is a pill that is available.

I love fish specially the ones from the Pacific Ocean or warm water. Mostly from Asia, Hawaii and Australia. My favorites are the Chilean bass, Baramundi and all the small fish from Philippines. I observe in the US, not too many favor these foods and the consumption of burgers and red meat is not very healthy.
Yes Jim and your son being a physician, I am sure he knows the best and most effective food that sustains our natural health.bouquet
Jim remember the copy you sent me on the mark up of prescriptions? Can you please send me that again? I will follow up with this blog.

Thanks Jim..bouquet
Linsay not all salmon is good. The farm kind is really bad...........
Only Alaska wild salmon is good........
BC I forgot to mention that and thank you so much for this emphasis. Yes, I hardly eat farm BC. I live half away from Bodega Bay and go buy directly to the wharf or buy my frozen cat wild from Asia. Many to choose from. I used to love Tilapia, too but all farmed here in the US now.bouquet
BTW! I'm 75 and I feel great so, again, I fully agree with you to stay healthy. I would rather die healthy than in pain wishing I was dead with tubes and hoses stuck into my body and attached to me.
Ed, it is very good that you are into the healthy foods. You look great for 75 and stay healthy Ed..wave bouquet
Calm down guys...this is not a showdown...Have a glass of wine. Good for all of us, the red one.

Tenner I will delete this if you don't mind.wave
Lindsy my dear, a good blog to remind us that health is wealth and the best capital we can have. To avoid cancer, it's important to be selective when we eat but a new study shows that being positive and managing stress would be good for the immune system and would be anti cancer... not minding unpleasant people and having more loving friends and family would be wonderful for us. Take things easy if we wtite in forums and try not to be irritated with some comments...and avoid being angry when debating or arguing. Let's just enjoy the challenge...teddybear teddybear laugh laugh
hmm .. so, an old man calling someone else a "COMPLETE IDIOT" for no apparent reason is perfectly fine by you then lindsy yeah?

That don't seem right to me.. not at all. (shakes head in dismay)
Of course Joy, I do laugh a lot..teddybear bouquet

And I know the effect it gives us..bouquet
Love thanks and may we all work towards a healthy life. wave bouquet
