Fake success stories

So, how do you know that, at least, some of the success stories aren't fake!

I mean, have you met anyone in person who's had success on a dating site and married?

Same goes for the lottery: how many lottery winners have you met lately?

Is marriage the only measure of success?
Know only one couple who met on the internet more than 10 years ago and they will definitely grow old together. Must be one in a couple of million I suspect.laugh
No, I know a few couples.

They have been together for a couple of years now.

Just not married laugh
Many CS folks, particularly those of us who read the Forums, are just here for a little wittering and banter on the blogs, rather than romance. Indeed it says so on most of our profiles.

That's fair!!
I stand corrected!!

That's fine so grin
I'd probably cancel if it leads to marriage.
I actually do know someone who won the lottery. A friend from high school won just after we graduated. Very exciting.

As far as successes on dating sites? I have a friend who is married almost 10 years to a guy she met on a dating site.
Me, I've met a wonderful person but no marriage and that won't happen.
i try to make all women 'that meet me' lucky banana

Most did get married afterwards applause
Coincidentally I also knew a guy who won the lotto.
I actually replaced him working in a hotel when I was in college.
He won a cool quarter mill, but kept his job.
One week he was eating beans on toast. The next he was buying a brand new house. Life's a trip.
Hello Mzark, wave I know of two couple who met on dating sites, and are living the happily ever after life. And I have made afew new friends off sites, (and have realized we don't have much in common), and are happy to be friends. And I have met a few women ,doh that I don t even want as friends. But that's life.
But I figure dating sites are like a lottery, you ll never win, if you don t buy a ticket. Once you buy a ticket, you do have an opportunity to dream about winning, yay
I add to Molly is marriage the point of success.
how would you define 3 marriages?
win win win?
Met one lottery winner, and there's a new one (a week ago) living a street away. I'm trying to meet her before she moves, I think she'll be my new best friend rolling on the floor laughing

A guy who used to be a very active and popular blogger here met and married his wife through CS, I'm not sure when one can say it was a success - only after 50 years? But they are very happy, a couple years down the line.

It is because a friend of mine, at 65, met the ideal woman for him (62) on a singles website (not this one) that I even thought of it. Three years for them now, they spend holidays and weekends together and seem blissfully happy with the arrangement.

Buying a lottery ticket doesn't make you a winner, joining a website doesn't guarantee a love match. But - all together now - got to be in it to win it.
Thank you all for your comments.wine
