Back to school
With the world becoming smaller and technology moving at a rapid pace, in order to keep up with events it means we need to be in a constant state of learning.Dont know about you guys, but, at the age of 60 I find learning stuff takes a little longer than it did when I was a teenager at school, however, have to say, over the past year or so have had a great deal of fun "trying my hand" at all sorts of new tasks.
Achievements... Learnt two languages, adapt in the use of an android mobile phone, know how to sign and send documents online thus not needing to be present to sign and am computer literate with windows 10. As for programming the latest batch of TV's... Childs play!
Learning in process.... Piano, cant seem to get the two hands to work together or increase the dexterity in the fingers. Radio control, I can fly helicopters and drones, but, dont always get them to go where I want them too, however, the 4x4 off road monster truck is a synch!
What (if anything) do you find yourself having to learn to keep up with the times?

I bought a Windows Touch phone, and it took a while to master that, although there r still things I don't know, which my older son helps with, except when he throws a fit that I must learn all these things. Why must I learn it if he can tell me. At my age, my brain is 52% full, in assuming a 100 yo life span.
Mainly technology, nothing else !
You can t stop and smell the roses, if you don t start slowing down.
And those old days did have some good Qualities to them,
I have learnt to SWEAR shout, bang fists on the table. Just no good being polite these days when people overstep the mark.
Also much more on the tech side of life, but I do think some things have gone too far. We will evolve on day without tongues, brains etc the robots will do it all.
Glad all that will happen when I am dust floating in the ocean, at the present I am enjoying learning new things----- and new swear words
Then a year or two ago, I had an oceanography class. My professor for that class basically said the same thing about college. He said, " You don't need a college degree to have a great career. Some of the most successful people are actually college dropouts." That means that unless you plan to be a doctor, or a lawyer going to school is not necessary. From what I've heard, you can learn just as much from talking to people with knowledge, reading books on a subject, or watching documentaries as you can from going to school. In some cases, you might even learn more from all that then from going to school.
There is an old saying... "Those that cant do.. teach and those that cant teach... teach teachers!
In other words, the people trying to teach you something know absolutely nothing about what they are trying to teach you.
