Shine, Z mountain our senior mosteoporosis respected citizen here in our blog land said it, I Googled, and while stream media is kaput about it, CA confirmed we're at 3, 4, is nuclear button, 5 we're all fried.

Seri, I can't find anything if there's something coming on. This blog scared the hell out of me and my son. laugh I'm like...WTH! I've been listening to heavy metal all day and suddenly there is a defcon 3 alert or something.....takes me back to the way I felt on 9/11.

LJ, just a correction defcon works the other way round, 5 is normal, 1 is you're fried, as the US doesn't for security reasons doesn't confirm or deny the defcon rating we have no way of confirming the current rating other than the dedicated site which seems to have enough credence to be quoted in the mainstream media, there is talk on the net about defcon 2 being considered but that is in all likelihood just speculation at the moment.

I wish I could agree with you on this one Jazz, it's not working for me, having heard about Biden broadcast albeit subtle, this is a high alert which should make people aware. The air force is on 15 minutes alert meaning they're ON GEAR.

Cal, since the Brexit vote I've been taking more notice of the news, the current situation is fairly complex with many nations taking sides, at present both China & Turkey are taking the Russian side, and planning military exercises together, as I've said before the Americans in conjunction with NATO have surrounded Russia with missile defence systems, the EU has just announced visa free travel for some of the ex Soviet nations & is speeding up admission to the EU, this will leave Russia with NATO forces on there doorstep, given the Americans recent predisposition for removing governments they don't fancy, Iraq, Libya & now Syria, it's hardly surprising Putin is nervous, his nuclear deterrent is severely eroded by all these missile defence systems, also China is not in the least happy about the planned deployment of the system in South Korea, too close for comfort, you can only push them so far, if you have a look at the link I posted earlier you'll see the Americans are about to cyber attack Russia in a bid to stop Russia interfering with the election, events are moving too quickly, people are nervous, never good when all concerned have enough nukes to destroy the world several times over, I hope you're right & it's all bluff, but the problem with that is someone will have to back down, can you see Putin doing that? Anyone who does may appear weak & is politically finished imo. Just to make it more complex Iran has also sent ships in response to the Americans firing missiles into Yemen.

Z, from another bit that I was reading it states that Obama doesn't want to make a decision and every day that he doesn't, things are changing and Syria is being overcome by Jihadist and other radical groups. Am I understanding correctly?

Shine, just from what I've read so not gospel, the US has been arming rebel groups in Syria in order to topple Assad, this has been done through 3rd countries so it can be denied, but certainly some of these groups have American hardware, from what I can gather these groups are nearly as bad as IS, I've never believed playing with devil is a good idea, but that was the plan as I understand it, let these groups take the flack for removing what is after all a democratically elected government, but Syria is backed by the Russians, now they've joined in that plan has gone pear shaped, will Russia let anyone remove an ally, I can't see it happening.
