dyslexia

My son is dyslexic but there's nothing wrong with his brain. He is brilliant at design. He has trouble writing and is not fond of books. He is also capable of fixing anything. He has a grasp from the smallest of electronics to the biggest as yet unknown.

Chevy.I think you may have got onto something there. I too only need 4 hours sleep .Sometimes If my large brain(thought I,d get that in )is onto a stimilating subject I go though till dawn no tiredness at all.
It seems that us dislexxics are clever poeple.

Hi Flyme,One thing I've learned throughtout all of my years of dealing with people is that there is no cure for stupid.

There are times when I just sit and ponder if the doctor who delivered them didn't cut the wrong cord.

I had someone on here insinuate that I was somehow boring.

I ran across this quote the other day and I wished I could've used it on them at that particular time.


Quote/I'm not boring,you don't bring any excitement out of me./Quote.


Flyme my only advice I can give you is to just ignore them cause they are the ones who lack intellect and a proper education.They are the most miserable people and are just trying to drag you down in their thinking to bring themselves up to be a bigger person.But to me they appear to be just that much smaller.

Yes I go for a wile and then hit the waall .Just drained no insperation ,motivation just persperation and rest for afew days or even aweek.

Alot of creativity and idears comes in dreams.

Fly. I don't like referring to others to make me feel I'm worth something. I stand on my own two feet and make my own destiny.

Since writing this a while ago my dyslexia has not improved but wot has happened not only have I got word blindness I have now developed face blindness I can,t remember poeples faces ..
It takes me half an hour when I look in the mirror in the morning to work out it,s me.
Otherwise I might start shaving another person.

Flyme ~ Dyslexia is becoming understood [although slower than it should be ] and also Dyspraxia and the various spectrums of Autism. Many famous people have Aspbergers too.
All above are intelligent, many are extremely creative and have given alot to the world and continue to do so.

Flyme ~ I suffer from Dyscalculia. It is not understood even today by most person and you are treated as if you have very low I.Q. Having been beaten at school for my inability to take in figures and math. I was nearly 30 when I was tested in hospital. I have a good IQ but I cannot deal with figures and for me to even add up [having problems with figures] is a nightmare. Banks are a nightmare and I have had to meet with Bank Manager/Staff and explain. Thankfully it is becoming understood. I would prefer to have Dyslexia as this permeates a good deal of my life. I am very untechnical to the point of it being a huge embarrassment and I miss out on IT and ironcally, I have a sister who lectures in IT. So you are not alone.
