rolling on the floor laughing Mr R !! You may be keen to make a round peg fit a square hole, so to speak, but as one who oscillates between being Rambo and Agony Aunt, the description 'down to earth' is a stretch !!

Mr how1e, I was more interested in understanding why she seemed to contradict the "down to earth" concept in her post. I would rather be one who "oscillates between being Rambo and Agony Aunt," than an endless over analyzing blog commentator forever tripping over his own intellect trying to compensate for his lack in social skills. But that's just me, to each their own.

In retrospect, it is now obvious that the hand emoticons are facing the wrong direction in her blog post.

OK, I understand what you mean now. But keep in mind, that this can also be said for many other, so called, positive social characteristics like the other ones you listed.
