Weatherless Day

People always talk about the weather.

I have noticed that the majority of people like and wish for warm, sunny days.

Are you with me so far?

Ok, in my mind, weather is a meteorological condition in which something happens:
rain drizzles
rain pours down steadily
snow flurries
snow bombards
hail happens
sleet slushes
thunder rumbles
lightening flashes
fog drifts
wind whips

Therefore, a calm, sunny day is an absence of weather to me. I get nervous that maybe we'll never have weather again.

Weather is good, even when it's bad. It reminds us that we are mere mortals and that nature is bigger and badder than all of us. It reminds us that we are insignificant in the grand scheme of things...

What you fail to realize, is that the sun doesn't need actively display it's superior power. It's content in the fact that everything living thing on Earth relies on it's energy to continue existing...

So it's not an absence of weather. It's the power behind the weather. And when the sky is clear, it rules the day. So don't leave the sun out. After all... It's the reason that you will be waking up to another day tomorrow. No matter how big and bad the weather is, the sun is the biggest and baddest. World meet sunshine, and bake in it's radiant splendor.

Ok, point taken. Yes, the energy on Earth begins with our nearest star.

(But I still find a sunny day boring.)nerd

Now that I think about what I posted, I did come off a little insensitive. I apologize. I could have added another line possibly two in order to prevent posting this in an insulting manner. Because after all, who am I to tell you how you should feel about the weather? =)
