Tales from Register No. 7 and the butter sale

Not much to mention except the incredible sale on generic butter. I wouldn't have known if it were not for the lady buying 18 cubes of 4 quarters at $1.29. Whew, I'm glad I got my 4. As for the 40 cent a pound turkeys, they are just a memory, and mayby some left overs in the fridge. On a lighter note, I sold 3 pregnency tests in one night. Since I rarely sell these tests, I think something earth-shattering happened 30 Plus days ago. School started. Some parents got some quickies after the kids picked up the bus, or some hormonal teens did the dirty with a school mate. What ever the reason, I never know what to say, "good luck" "have a good evening" or "thanks for your business"...

Perhaps you could have pitched them some Sale Butter, as it "Might make your results easier to swallow."

grin

What do you say to that?
Great question.
If you say Have a great day, as some employees are trained to do, can you imagine the looks you'd recieve?
Might not be so great to some people.
But the replies to that line when you've sold some condoms is always amusing.
"You bet I will"
"I better"
*mindless giggling*

My only comment is that generic butter and turkey are $1.29, but pregnency is a lighter note?? You people take generic butter very serious up there. lol.

Hi Lookylou applause Ooh Ooh...I know what you could have said!..."Wow....butter and a pregnancy test huh? Jusr think...you'll have plenty of butter to cook with if you are pregnant" ( darn those pesky 'cravings' ) cheering "and if you're not pregnant and 'relieved' you could bake a cake (with a yummy, creamy butter frosting) to 'celebrate'!! " innocent grin
