RE: HOLIDAY IN THAILAND

Why are you surprised that some women are sent out by their poor families to make money by being employed by such places?...they are prostitutes...
Why would any young girl be interested in an old white male if they didn't have money (or willing) to spend on them...doh

What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

Does that mean Jesus have enemies in this gospel?
Jesus is depicted as having enemies in all the gospels. In John, again, the Pharisees come in for their typical negative role. The chief priests, and the high priests move against Jesus and engineer the ambush in Gethsemane. But there's no trial before the Sanhedrin in John. There's no face-off between the chief priest and Jesus in John the way there is very dramatically in Mark, where there are not one, but two full meetings of the entire priestly court, the night after this incredibly long day of Passover. So, Jesus' enemies are really provided to give a kind of dimension to the plot. But the story of John's Jesus is really the story of this divine figure who comes from above and appears to the world below. And then, as he's hanging on the cross, in a scene that's curiously leeched of pathos and anguish, he says, "It is finished." And that's where the gospel's complete.

Why would the author of John want to have shifted history around and twisted it in order to present Jesus in opposition to Pharisees?

As any parent of a two year old knows, the first two words a child masters when forming its own identity , "Mine" and "No". And I think if we look at the Gospel of John, what we see is a kind of very architectural hostility, shaped inside the story of Jesus. Because this community is developing its own identity vis a vis the synagogue across the street. I mean, in one sense, if we remove the Gospel of John from the Christian canon, if we didn't have it right next to Matthew, Mark, and Luke, and instead, if we put the gospel of John next to the Dead Sea Scroll library, we'd see the sorts of issues that Jews fight about forever. You know, this guy's the Prince of Darkness... this one isn't any good, this is the only right way to do it...this is the sort of dynamic that we get, shaping the way John presents Jesus' life in that particular gospel.

RE: What is a Player? - Part 2

It is surprising how many lonely women are conned...that men who 20 years younger are only interested in them and not their money or a passport...
These men are good at the game...but if it is too good to be true...it is...
Men are often taken advantage of too...ending up with an empty bank account, in debt and heartbroken...

What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

I'll give you a very obvious example, the story of Jesus and Nicodemus. Nicodemus comes to Jesus and recognizes he is a great teacher, he's come from God, and Jesus now tells him something that is, in fact, the quotation of a traditional baptismal saying. "Unless you're reborn, you will not enter the Kingdom of God." This saying is found in other contexts; a second century apologist, Justin Martyr, quotes the same saying in his report of the Christian baptismal liturgy.... Now John takes that saying as the basis of the development of dialogue. He changes the saying somewhat, so that Nicodemus understands the rebirth not to be a rebirth by the spirit from above, but physical rebirth, and therefore says, "How can anybody who has gotten old now go back to his mother's womb and be reborn?" And this gives the occasion now for the explanation of what this saying of Jesus means. And that explanation fills the whole rest of the chapter....

Essentially all the major speeches of John are developed out of traditional sayings materials. And what is interesting here is that some of these sayings have parallels in the sayings we find in the synoptic gospels. But some of the sayings also have parallels which we now find in the Gospel of Thomas. So John draws on a different set of traditional sayings of Jesus than do the first three gospels of the New Testament.
William Goodwin Aurelio Professor of the Appreciation of Scripture, Boston University
JESUS IN JOHN
Jesus in the Gospel of John is difficult to reconstruct as an historical person, because his character in the gospel is in full voice giving very developed theological soliloquies about himself. It's not the sort of thing that if you try to put in a social context would appeal to a large number of followers. Because it's so much Christian proclamation and Christian imagery, and it's very developed. It's a very developed Christology. Jesus must have had some kind of popular following or else he wouldn't have ended up killed by Rome. If the historical Jesus was saying the sorts of things that John's Jesus said, he probably would have been fairly safe. It would have been very difficult for early first century Jews to have tracked what that Jesus was saying.

If only you see man is into your money you must drop that man like hot potato. Additionally what woman being 56 years old expects if she starts relationship with 20 years younger man and from Nigeria? You have to look at the mirror and your date of birth in your passport. Lol

You said the young women have to make ends meet. That sounds interesting. I didn't know it was compulsory.

RE: HOLIDAY IN THAILAND

Thailand is interesting country, it boarders Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos and of course Myanmar (Burma) Islands like Ko Samui Island that is known for its palm-fringed beaches, coconut groves and dense, mountainous rain-forest, plus luxury resorts and posh spas. The landmark 12m-tall golden Big Buddha statue at Wat Phra Yai Temple is located on a tiny island connected to Ko Samui by a causeway. Quite easily accessed by catching train in Bangkok to Surat Thani, from there ferry service out to Ko Samui.
Bangkok is first class place to purchase cheap airline tickets. Massage services in Bangkok are pretty interesting, however countryside is well worth exploring. The markets in Bangkok and really interesting and yes you can get laid to.
I'd recommend you check airline ticket prices online in Thailand before throwing money down the drain in the UK of course at your own risk but I think should quite Ok.
Cheap flights to Bangkok from $384

RE: Changing someones opinion... in CS

Hi chat,

I don't come on here to change anyone's opinion ,but some people don't see it that way when I comment on any given post to do with political issues.

I'm told I'm argumentative or thick or believe in the media ,you name it some people have got a label for anything if it goes against their own political viewpoint.

Does this bother me ? No of course not as to my way of thinking if you have to try to belittle someone to get your own point across you've already lost my interest and sometimes respect..handshake

Actually...all you need to do is ask New York residents and the businesses out there to get an idea of who Trump is...laugh
New Yorkers knew for years what type of person he is...

RE: HOLIDAY IN THAILAND

Most Thai women that hang out at bars are there for money...they 'date' men as it is their job...
Some women date (outside of their jobs) more than one male as they need to earn enough for their families...
Plenty of men have no problem with this arrangement...this is a s*xual/companionship transaction...they are well aware of their multiple 'boyfriends' as the young women have to make ends meet...
It all depends what you are looking for...I have yet to see line dancing in Thailand...lol...laugh roll eyes
Good luck with that...wine

RE: Changing someones opinion... in CS

I have one fact for you Chat:
Trump

We have no Fox here u see.
How do you explain such a bias?

The man is a perverted dangerous satan with the worst morals you can find.

That would be a fact judging by what I hear here in our main stream media.

Thanks for your warnings. I would have to do a Crocodile Dundee to check someone's credentials before any conversations. I like Thai women, they appeal to me. I'm sure they can't all be bad. But maybe they are only interested in money and have no romantic inclinations. Thai dancers look great and that would be something to enjoy. I teach American line dancing so I appreciate most types of dance. handshake

RE: What is a Player? - Part 2

I have watched on TV programs that some older women fall prey to those wanting a passport upgrade and are willing to spend a few years getting what they want from these women...scold
Having a holiday abroad and meeting up with a younger man who love bombs these women is a planned attempt to marry them and in doing so...a ticket into a country of choice... stuck
This process can take a few years...but I guess if the men are young enough; it is worth the time and energy in the end...sigh
I guess the first thing is to be realistic...just like any male in a position to have a younger women at their side...hmmm
For most men/women with wealth...losing money from a scammer is no big deal as they have enough money to cover the debt, although their ego taken a beating... moping
With some of the older women (men included) who have less money...a scammer can reek havoc on their emotions and their finances...broken heart
Beware of these love scams that go on while vacationing...these predators are seasoned professionals...many women or men are played at the same time...moving on is easier if they have another target...liar
I think it is good to go out and find companionship...just be realistic and know that if you cannot afford another person to carry financially...it probably is not a good idea...look after your financial health...idea
I will post a video I have watched...wow

RE: Changing someones opinion... in CS

from my experience the media is not factual, and most people realize there is no politician to save you. there is no point of arguing over politics, as it is all an illusion , propaganda for the political parties.

RE: Men from Ireland looking for sex holiday in Spain?

I have heard many go to Spain for a cheapish holiday as the Pound is greater than the Euro...dunno
The sun shines and hardly any gray, drizzly days...a change of scenery for most...wine
I have never heard that the food is not good...confused
The tapas and sangrias sound divine...smitten or a cold beer after swimming...cheers
The culture there might be different...the women might dress in less clothing or wear heavy makeup but that is the beauty of travel...shimmy guitar after all isn't it hotter than Hades there...the people in general a bit more spicy in attitude...lips
Spain sounds like a great place to visit and for some a good dose of Vitamin D...eh Jim...laugh

RE: HOLIDAY IN THAILAND

I went to Thailand for a few weeks with a friend...there was a few locals trying to get us to stay at their hotels which they receive a commission for...
There are no 'girls' for your pleasure/touring...roll eyes and you do not want to get too cozy with some as there are signs put up around most hotels or guest houses alerting tourists about 'ladyboys'...as many a tourist cannot tell the difference as they do seem feminine...wow
However, it is a place (Thailand) where many males with some money go to exploit young girls...a p*dophile's paradise...fortunately common wealth countries working with these sex tourist hotspots are alerted and charge these 'vacationers' with a sex crime and they will greet you at the airport with handcuffs...applause
It is most unpleasant that you would joke about this as many girls are being exploited...not so much fun for them...sigh as I have seen the BS that goes on in some of the bars there...lots of older males from the UK hanging out with their 'girlfriends'...the men probably live there for 6 months out of the year...
Thailand is a cheap destination for people including backpackers...there are others things to do there...the beaches are beautiful and the local travel agencies can help you plan activities such as...fishing and snorkeling trips/excursions and Thai cooking classes to name a few.. wine

RE: HOLIDAY IN THAILAND

Phuket has some wonderful beaches and a lively nightlife.

If you want a genuine holiday experience then I recommend Chiang Mai, amazin scenery and waterfalls,
There is an elephant sanctuary that needs to be seen to be believed and a fantastic rafting experience on the Mae Wang River.

Thailand is not the same today as it was 30 years ago, but you can still have a great time away from the sex and rip-off bars in Bangkok.

The best thing about Thailand is the food.

HOLIDAY IN THAILAND

Thanks suzicute.
I would be quite happy to go alone. I have heard about hotels that when you check in, there is a lady waiting for you already in your room. What a surprise that would be. No need to find a tourist guide. She could show you round, and help you unpack. If she could play badminton, we could share a shuttlecock in Bangkok.

RE: HOLIDAY IN THAILAND

Thailand is one of the sex-tourist destinations and if you have money to spend there are many nubile young women very willing to help you spend it.

Been there for a few days with family as part of a general roaming round that part of the world and it was a great place for a holiday but we stuck to tourist stuff so I can't report back on mixing with locals. I'd not personally go alone but then blokes can do things, even in these enlightened times, that women can't. Maybe join a fairly casual tour, with lots of free time built in?

RE: What is a Player? - Part 2

There is more than one type of player but as a general rule of thumb they do all the initial running, ride the love wave, then move on, they're addicted to the rush. So to say a warning symptom is when the played is doing all the work is not strictly accurate - that's another type in the merry band of singles. There are many types! Bad boys, Heathcliff, cad, waif, empath, married man, grumps, cynics, fragile blossoms and the angry singles, who are the most destructive.

The most entertaining are the ones who mould themselves into your perfect companion, such fun. Well - for the time they are around! Hard to get over, unless you get the chance to see them at work on their next target, becoming different people to please the new partner, and realize you haven't lost a soulmate as there wasn't actually a soul, just a very malleable template.

roll eyes

Not so funny if they were scammers and relieve you of a lot of dosh during the meeting of souls, but luckily anyone that talented usually only bothers for richer targets.

This comment isn't all personal research, by the way. uh oh There's a book on the subject which go into a lot more detail than one person usually collides with in the singles world.

RE: Men from Ireland looking for sex holiday in Spain?

I'm also in Spain and I also get a lot of Irish mail, it's a mystery to be sure. Most of my mail is still from the US, I think some Americans think Spain is closer than it is. Or even on the same or similar time zone.

Two blokes I know in Spain say they get occasional mails from women (not necessarily Irish) saying they are coming over on holiday and wanting to meet up. They see it as wining and dining at their expense, pass.

Now me, I'd not be averse to meeting up with someone coming over on a holiday, just to hang out with NO other expectations, who knows I may want to visit their country sometime on the same cheerful companionable basis. A no-bullshit approach, like saying they are planning a holiday and being chatty and interesting and not pretending they've fallen hopelessly in love with what is deliberately not a great profile photo ... roll eyes

One Belt and Road Initiative growing stronger

According to the Iraqi army, one person was killed and eight others injured in the blast at the Kalsu military base late on Friday which is located some 50km south of Baghdad in the province of Babil (Babylon).

Iraqi officials said a member of the army was among those injured in the base which also serves as a headquarters for the country’s military.

Footage from the scene has shown a huge explosion a large crater and damage to infrastructure and vehicles.

The cause of the blast is still unknown.

If reports about Israel’s involvement in the incident came to be true, the U.S. would be responsible. This is because the U.S. has control over the Iraqi airspace.

Undoubtedly, Israel could not have carried out any attack inside Iraq without U.S. foreknowledge.

Any attack inside Iraq either by the U.S. or Israel amounts to violating the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The United States told the Group of Seven foreign ministers on Friday that it received “last minute” information from Israel about a drone action in Iran, Italy’s foreign minister said.

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, who chaired the meeting of ministers of industrialized countries, said the United States provided the information at a Friday morning session that was changed at the last minute to address the suspected attack.

Tajani said the U.S. informed the G7 ministers that it had been “informed at the last minute” by Israel about the drones. “But there was no sharing of the attack by the U.S. It was a mere information.”

Satellite imagery released over the past 24 hours has revealed evidence of probable damage at an Iranian air base following an Israeli strike in the early hours of Friday morning.

BBC Verify has analysed two images showing part of an air-defence system at an airfield in Isfahan was damaged.

US officials say Israel carried out a missile strike although there has been no official Israeli confirmation.

RE: Soaring gas prices

This pipeline was for 'Dirty Tar Sands Crude Oil' which contains more gunge than oil. You really don't want this shit anywhere near you.

From the link:

"Keystone pipeline, gas prices, and oil exports."

"Dirty energy lobbyists claimed developing tar sands would protect our national energy security and bring U.S. fuel prices down.

But environmental reviews by both the Obama and Trump administrations concluded that the Keystone XL pipeline would not have lowered gasoline prices.

NRDC and its partners also found the majority of Keystone XL oil would have been sent to markets overseas—aided by a 2015 reversal of a ban on crude oil exports."

So it wasn't even for domestic consumption. It was purely for Capitalist gain using loopholes in the system in your country.

I think you should be relieved that it was stopped.
