This sounds like it's going to be fun -- hope more people sign up soon -- anyone in the DFW/Texas area that wants to coordinate flight plans so we can all fly out together -- let me know, it's a bit early but I'm thinking it would be nice to have some flight buddies if we can get it pulled together. thanks Larry for working so hard!

It'd be nice to find someone with staying power -- too much disposability in society -- especially relationships! sad flower

Of course our past affects our future --- it should --- it's all in how we learn from the past and apply it to the future. I've learned great things from my past relationships -- good and bad -- hope they will serve me well, some day when I meet the right one! handshake

kidatheart: Glad to hear it! For others reading this thread, get yourselves checked out, early detection is the best possible chance to beat it.

You couldn't be more accurate there....early detection thru self exams and annual mammos -- don't ever skip em ladies! It's not a guarantee -- because I have done this faithfully for 15 years - mammos (that is) and self exams since I was a young woman. I detected mine thru my monthly self exam -- and it had been 13 months since my last mammo...ironically I was scheduled to have my annual physical, pap, breast exam and mammo...the very next day! I didn't wait ... I called my doctor that day and she saw me within 2 hours and I had a diagnostic mammo within 1 hour of leaving her office...and a biopsy within 3 days. I cannot stress enough the importance of doing these exams...please, please...if someone you know hasn't done this or if you haven't...start today - call and get that mammo scheduled...men, please encourage the women you love to do this for you, if not themselves. bless you all and thank you teddybear

Da10th: That is absolute fantastic news! I am personally relieved to hear that the prognosis is excellent. Was thinking about you the other night while on another site and saw those with pink ribbons as a show of solidarity of support for you.

I am especially glad to hear that there was no spread of the cancer. I hope you continue to update us on the progress of your recovery. Always remember, all of us are here for you whenever you need us.

Thanks Rich...I got your message thru Sassy -- I really appreciate your kindness. teddybear

For the last month, some of you have known that I've been fighting a private battle with my breast cancer diagnosis. Only in the last week have I asked another member (our lovely Sassy) to reveal this to you, my CS family/community, as I was having surgery this week -- on Monday, Aug 17th -- and the tumor was removed along with biopsys made of my lymph nodes. Many of you prayed for me, kept me in your thoughts, and sent well wishes privately thru email. I really appreciate the warmness of your affections...and today I wanted to let you all know that the result of the surgery was great, and my prognosis is excellent. There was no spread of the cancer to my lymphatic system and my doctors feel confident that due to the early detection and intervention thru surgery, all was removed and I will only have to endure minimal radiation and chemo as a precaution. Altho recurrence is always an issue with cancer, I have begun a naturopathic journey of treatment also -- this with help (thru emails and phone conversations) of the wonderful Dru (Diane) -- there are so many others who have sent ecards and words of encouragement thru emails...some here, some on another site, some thru private email...I just wanted to take this opportunity, using the forums, to let others here know that there truly are angels angel amongst us -- right here on CS -- they have been doing their magic on my behalf, keeping me supported with their beautiful hearts heart beating -- I will never be able to express eloquently enough how much I truly appreciate these folks and everyone who prayed privately for me...so I will say thank you to one and all...and have sent private messages to those I hold dearest.teddybear teddybear teddybear teddybear
