Got one - okay, technically I have 2, but since one is a cover up of the other it should only count as one. grin It's a Celtic knot in a heart shape on my upper right arm. Have thought about getting a couple more -- a dragon and a centaur, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Being painfully shy myself, I completely understand how you feel. It helps to remember that your audience wants you to succeed. Okay, I'll admit that it doesn't help a lot, but it does help. Good luck!

My first thought upon reading your posts, boxgrl, was "Damn, I'd like to be 21 again and know everything."

I would be interested to know just where you get your information concerning the Freemasons and Satanists. My guess would be the media. Now I'll admit I don't know much about masonry so I won't say anything on that subject. However, I will say that some of the nicest, most moral people I know are atheists and satanists. Now don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not bashing the Christians here. You are certainly entitled to your opinion and if Christianity is what works for you, that's great, but I do take offense to your comment about it being someone's "false opinion" that it doesn't work for them. As long as your beliefs help make you a better person, I really don't think it matters what god, if any, you deal with.

Like Mel, I really don't want to get into a debate here, but I would ask that you actually do some real research before you start condemning those who don't believe as you do.

Wishing Michael a very happy birthday!!

I've seen several ladies here say they've stopped having birthdays -- tsk tsk. You don't have to admit to how many you've had, but you certainly shouldn't stop having them. That's how I do it anyway. :o) Keep in mind...the more birthdays you have, the longer the gods let you live.

UGH -- I absolutely hate 'em!! Won't wear one any more than I have to. First thing I do when I get home from work is get rid of the darn thing. Love the weekend when I don't have to wear one at all.

Thanks for the reminder to make sure they know they can always come back. I assume they know that, but it's probably best to make that very clear to them. Guess I'll just have to play "hide and watch" and see what happens.

Canadagoose: Yes, the fact that they seemed to have everything all worked out before anyone even mentioned it to me upset me a lot. "Mom" should not be the last to know about these kinds of things. What was worse is that she got offended that I was mad.

Thanks to all of you. It's much appreciated!

Kelly

LOL That's okay Steban -- I did the same thing at least twice when I was typing. It's been one of those weeks!

Thanks to both of you. I think that's the best option too, but it's always nice to get input from others and I knew I could count on the great bunch of people here.

Okay, here’s the deal …. my daughters went to stay in another state with my sister for what was supposed to be a two week vacation. The plan was that they were coming home this weekend. Last night I get a call about 8:30 p.m. informing me that they don’t want to come back. Now, I completely understand not wanting to come back to Iowa – heck I’ve been talking about moving myself. What pissed me off about the whole thing is that I feel like I got ambushed with them waiting until the last minute and then THEY didn’t even talk to me about it – left it to my sister to tell me. Not quite sure what to do now. They will be 18 in about 2 ½ months. Seems my options are:

1. I can tell them they HAVE to come home and can’t move until they have actually reached 18 in which case we will probably spend the next couple of months at each other’s throats.

2. I can say yeah, sure, whatever you want. You go right ahead and stay and I’ll figure out what to do with all of you stuff here.

3. I can talk to them and explain that they really need to come back at least for a few weeks and sort through all their stuff to decide what to get rid of and what they want to take with them, give proper notice to their employer, and say goodbye to friends here.

Having had a chance to calm down since last night, I’m leaning toward option 3. Anybody have any other ideas I haven’t thought of yet (short of bodily injury, that is – believe me, I considered it last night)? Appreciate any comments.

Thanks!

This is a tough question! Intellectually I agree with Jackie. However, there are times my gut just screams "fry the bastard!" For some crimes I have my own ideas about what should happen to the offender, but our government considers those things cruel and unusual punishment -- go figure. Sorry, Ricky, I don't think I've been very helpful with your project.

A husband and wife are getting ready for bed. The wife is standing in front of a full-length mirror taking a hard look at herself.

"You know, dear," she says, "I look in the mirror, and I see an old woman. My face is all wrinkled, my bosom is barely above my waist, and my bottom is hanging out a mile. I've got fat legs, and my arms are all flabby." She turns to her husband and says, "Tell me something positive to make me feel better about myself."

He studies hard for a moment thinking about it and then says in a soft, thoughtful voice, "Well, there's nothing wrong with your eyesight."

Services for the husband will be held Saturday morning at 10:30.

Yeah, it's weird, but I do tend to sleep just on one side of the bed even though my ex would tell you that I always slept in the middle of the bed before. LOL

Oh, let's see, there are so many that can do it for me. Off the top of my head I'd say "Dead Poet's Society", "I Am Sam", and "What Dreams May Come."
