RDM59: Consider a tribe of undescovered Amozon Indians who have never met a white man or a missionary. They have laws and punishments designed to promote social and communal life/work. They've never seen the 10 commandments, but I'll bet theirs are very similar regarding how we treat and respect each other. It is basic common sense.
Rules are important to live by, otherwise it would be chaos.
But we can work this out for ourselves in order to achieve peace and harmony. Why is a religious order so neccessary in many peoples lives to achive this ? Aren't normal judicial laws and general morality and common sense enough of a guide ?
Ten Commandments, based on The Code of Hammurabi, and I wonder where he got it from!
Interesting, there are some parallels to Moses.
Hammurabi was chosen by the Gods to deliver the Laws to the People, except those Laws were already used by other people as well!
For people to live together, they need certain Standards to follow, and I doubt if they're much different!
