Scubadiva: Hmmm... Would you not weigh the quality of the person's answers against your experience, or perhaps common sense? What I'm getting at is how much weight do give your desire to have a relationship with the person versus the weight you attribute to the quality of their reasons.
Less convoluted: .. you really want the relationship, her reasons sound a bit bogus, do you trust her anyway?
Oh well, if her reasons sounded way out there, and unfounded, then yes, common sense would easily prevail over trust because I would have simply felt what she was either saying was decieving or condensending, both of which would give me a reason to not trust her.
I wouldn't simply follow her with blind eyes. Thankyou for actually pointing that out.
