We do and have had more than two parties in the US. The parties have evolved over the years to the point that Abraham Lincoln would probably not recognize his party today. More than two parties are on most ballots. Unlike some countries, we can vote for the person, not just the party.

In response to: i have notices a pattern of americans lately. they are so afraid of everything. they are afraid of muslims. old folks are afraid of the government letting them die.every time you turn around americans are so afraid. as a world traveler. i get on planes with muslims all the time. do i worry about muslims. know i don't. i think i have the answer why americans are so afraid of everything. its people like Sean hannity/bill oreilly/ rush Limbaugh/Sarah palin. and right wing radio. all they do is spread fear. on a daily basic. there is know reason for americans to be afraid every time you turn around. what happen to the fearless country i use to know.

In response to: I've not been on CS as much as I would like but when I have been able to get on I've noticed a few announcing their new found happiness at finding a new love. I've always found such people to be brave souls, especially navigating the often choppy waters of public opinion on CS. Its a crap shoot as to what the responses will be. And as I've seen the last few times I've been on, things can get rather nasty. I'm more of a private person so don't think there would be any sharing for me unless its privately with a few near and dear friends, but I understand that other would prefer to let others know publicly (including those who might be viewing them as a potential mate) that they are off the market. What do others think? To announce or not?
