I have posted my reasons but people focus more on the now, of the addicted.
I totally understand this.
I am looking at this picture, what legalization would change for the benefit of everyone, later.
Less people getting addicted, that is the goal.
When the drug labs are out of business, drug dealers can stay home, no kids being used to sell, prisons being empteed, money laundering, no more need for mules, a lot of crime eliminated. etc.etc.
No you're wrong sweet lady. I understand what you say here but I think you have misunderstood some of the posts, including mine.
I haven't really said no, in opposition to what you believe, but I have said that there are already legalised drugs such as alcohol or cigarettes which are dangerous.
My take on all this is that we shouldn't have to deal with yet another legalised, life threatening drug. We have enough already! Alcohol, cigarettes can be fatal, they are legal therefore people use them either recreationally or to excess. The exact same thing will happen if other drugs are legalised. Maybe not straightaway but in time, for sure.
Legalised drugs anyway line the pockets of our governments at the end of the day, and as a socialist I would say no thank you. Politicians who advocate legalisation, in the main, do so because it will boost the government coffers in terms of taxation, like alcohol and cigarettes.
Should drugs, ALL drugs be available and free for anyone who wants them?.................: click here to read the entire thread »
