I have blocked a few users in my time here.

A few are just the Russian/African scam artists looking for the usual shite. Aside from that, I blocked one user recently (A US user) who thought it was essential to mail me every single time I clicked her profile and it quite frankly was easier than enduring her sad joke. God, I must sound like a miserable old man now grin

And now the ONE alternative, Mac, is using Windows software.

<<<Mac man.
Not correct.

I don't have any Windows software on my 3 Apples. OK, I have Mi¢ro$oft software (Office, Messenger) but equally Windows will run Quicktime and iTunes.

Now, an Apple is capable of running XP or Vista via BootCamp or Parallels but this is not to say that it uses Windows; it may use it if required. Same way, an Apple can boot up on Unix or a PC on Linux or indeed Virtual Mac but they don't use; they can use if required.

There's already a sur-tax on blank media such as CD's, DVD's and cassettes which is supposed to go to the artists. If my neighbour asked to borrow one of my CD's, is that illegal ?
It is legal to lend a CD to them. The "crime" is in reproducing the music without permission of those who "created" the sound you listen to; same way it would be to photocopy a book. So if they copy your CD, that then is illegal.

What bothers me is that the record companies will gleefully sell to you blank media and the equipment to record same with, yet they campaign when we "steal" music by copying it!

On downloaded music, royalties will go to the usual; songwriter, artist, publisher and the site will take their cut, as does your states taxman. Difference is, you are only buying one or tow songs and you provide the media and inlay if needed and no shipping, hence a lower fee.

I used to download music but, from one of the websites I downloaded from, I unfortunately, got a virus that wiped out my PC so I no longer download music.
That is the main reason why one should NOT use illegal downloads; they can be rife with viruses and are often of dubious quality. Not always mind, but they often can be.

I download music from iTunes personally, quick, cheap and excellent quality of track. I occasionally use Limewire, but hate to have to resort to it.

Also in Ireland, there is Bastardstown in Co. Wexford, Granny in Co. Kilkenny, Nobber in Co Meath and Termonfeckin in Louth (For the Father Ted fans).

My aunt in England lives in Broadbottom, it's in Derbyshire.

yeh true. but they sud be punished for it.

u get life for murder what about murdering a human who hasnt has the chance of life?
Who are the "they" you refer to that you feel should be taken to task for it? Imagine the public outcry of trying a woman in the courts for aiding and abetting an abortion?

I must say, as emotive a subject that abortion is, it is not at all fair to label those who choose abortion least of all "selfish" or "sick".

To anybody who hasn't looked at the url supplied, it comes from the website of a "pro life" group in America. It is not a "photo; it is a cartoon diagram of how an abortion is carried out, but is graphic nonetheless.

Just here listening to "Don't Pass me By" on the Beatles White Album and in it, there is a line in it...

"You were in a car crash and you lost your hair"

Any equally idiotic and inane song lyrics that spring to mind?
