Sommerauer71: It may come across as though he is attacking Western women, but there is a way to discuss this without it becoming an argument.
I am amazed that no person here, intelligent women have tried to make a discussion of this, instead we end up looking angry and fighting our corner, when we do not need to.
We do not need to write who we are, don't we often write enough about ourselves to know who we are...
From what he has written, in his opening post, his first statement, 'this is acerbic' means he knows it will set flames alight.
His final statement, 'WOMEN'S EDUCATION ENDS IN KITCHEN' is designed to set women off.
We don't need to fight that, because we know it is not true.
But really, doesn't guiding him around, having an intelligent discussion make it much nicer?
It is a matter of reading his words, and then talking. Not taking it as an attack.
Exactly.
It may be a flash in the pan discussion but it's interesting to watch how people polarize, it tells you something about them.
On one side:
Believers. Galled, sticking up for women's rights because they take it personally. They'll usually open fire at generalities without taking the time to read the whole thing, attack the OP's character, culture, education or intelligence.
Debaters. Here for philosophical exchange, trying to reason, learn and enlighten. They might occasionally mimic Believer traits but usually they'll point to a specific statement at heart, they don't have a personal stake in either side.
Proxys. Friends, passers by and guys who think that political correctness will get them laid. They take various forms, but they'll usually move on.
Humorists. Somewhat like debaters, don't take much of anything in this little forum seriously but they'll prod at least one side, really just here to hang out and mingle.
Incendiary "forum troll." A social idiot savant, smart but manipulative, trading firsthand intimacy for secondhand attention. Always taking on the role of the believer, feeding the argument with provocative material like a campfire.
Always with a secondary objective.
In this case, I'd say he's obviously taken a shine to Mercedes1 and he's pulling her little believer pigtails like it's a schoolyard. You won't f*ck with an Aussie woman's right without a decisive response.
