Thank you everybody for your advice and thoughts and would love to hear more. But I think there may have been a misunderstanding along the way.

Nobody is diagnosing anyone with a mental illness. I am not saying what if I think someone has a mental illness when should I tell them.

Well since obviously everyone knows by now that I have a mental illness since I did post the thread I will ask the question a bit more clearly.

I have unipolar depression with a touch of mania. I also suffer from anxiety disorder. (Now my doctor thinks it may have misdiagnosed, and I am actually borderline. Should hopefully have that cleared up soon.) I would like to know if I sm talking to someone online should I be upfront and tell them right away about my mental issues? Should I wait until after a few dates? Or should I wait until I know for sure that this is going to be a serious long lasting relationship?

In the past I have been very upfront about it and believe that I may have scared potential dates away. Then I recently went out with a guy a few times and told him after 4 dates and he got pi**ed and wanted to know why I did not tell him something so serious before we met. He hasn't called me since.

So that is that, I am sorry if I had confused some people about my question.

In response to:
One night a man barges into his bedroom with a sheep under his arm and stand in front of his wife.

"This the pig I screw when you have a headache," he says.

The wife looks at him and replies, "That's a sheep under your arm."

"I wasn't talking to you."
OMG I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. That is an awful joke yet I found it so hilarious

I posted this thread on the Canadian forums and not getting quite the response I had wanted out of it. So will aske here.

If someone has a mental illness, like bipolar, borfderline, schizophrenia, etc. when would be the right time to tell someone? Should you be upfront and tell a person right away to get it out of the way? Or should you wait a few dates and see where the relationship might be going? Or should you even wait until you have been seeing someone for a few months?

dunno

Well obviously, unless you are a psychologist, you just can't going around telling people you think they have a mental illness.

So yeah I was wondering when if you yourself have a mental illness, the right time to tell a potential partener or date that you are inflicted with this condition.

Seriously? Nobody has an opinion on this? You guys are always so opinionated rolling on the floor laughing

I know I have read a lot of forums about mental illness on other sites and they always lead to a lot of discremenation and a big con-flab about wether or not to date someone who is bipolar and blah blah blah. I am not looking for any of that just an opinion on when to tell someone about it.

This one is kind of cheating as it uses boxed macaroni salad..but I add other special ingredients...

1 box kraft macaroni salad
2 tbsp relish
3/4 cup presidents choice salad dressing (has to be this to give it that tang, not mayo or miracle whip)
1 tbsp lemon juice
4 hard boiled eggs, choppped
several pieces of old cheddar cheese diced
3 green onions chopped
1 stalk celery chopped
1 large carrot shredded
1 small cucumber peeled and thinly sliced
3-4 dill pickles sliced

Mix all ingredients together along with cooked macaroni and seasoning included in box. It is really good with a nice maple smoked ham.

I agree with everyone here...although the 3some thing well...rolling on the floor laughing

Seriously though, if he would have been up front in the beginning I may have considered, but doubt it. In the past, I probably would have dated a married man and had some fun, but I am getting tired of the BS and jealousy, and am ready to grow up and find that special someone.

He called me again today and asked if I have thought about it further, and advised him I was not interested, but wished him luck and hope he found whatever it is that he is looking for.

Oh and by the way, did I mention that his wife is pregnant. That definitely makes things even worse. No thank you!!!
