I was told us Californians have an accent. I don't understand that one, but we do say the word "Like" a lot.

I like elvish accents, but you probably never heard it before. Just kidding, I am typing random things. Oh! If anything a Californian accent might be like a Mexican accent, because you have to be bi-lingual to order at a fast food place sometimes and I suppose it can rub off on you.

Before you all jump to conclusions, I happen to be like a 1/4 or like 1/2 or something. So don't think I am being mean, I am just saying, sometimes ya dooooooooooo.

Charity is a gift of giving. Much like grandkids and kids giving their loving grandmother a kiss.

I agree with you Stranger, so when people talk about destiny made by choices good or bad it sounds like an empty discourse as the choices have a context and reasons to be too.

It is also "true" to see that everything can be true and not true in respect to destiny and probably in respect to everything else.

The fact that we come already determined for something and the meager possibilities we have sometimes to change this karma is soemthing clear at certain period of our lives. I mean when the illusions of the younger years have given place to disilusion, say, wisdom.
Maybe in certain cases, the excess of gutter-philosophy can make some people pretend to believe in the absolute steering of destiny, but these illusions must be the kind of destiny assigned to those people, I guess ( )

In Invictus, William Ernest Henley has given a touching view of our being masters of our fate while facing the world outside:

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Excellent response. You are a very wise person I see both spiritual and intellectual.

Hey Faust...

I have made an effort not to curse for the last 5 years. I know times have changed and cursing is more acceptable. It kind of shocked me when I heard my 16 year old nephew(he is 21 now) say the F word. I told myself then I don't want to curse, especially around kids. So far, I have been doing pretty good...once in a while I will "slip"....

Well I try not to cuss around kids. I am so subtle when I cuss, that people (including the kids I have slipped around) are not bothered by it or even notice it. Now, when I go into a public place, if I have to speak loud, I will not cuss. Nor would I cuss when speaking to an employee in a place of business unless we are talking about personal life (it happens as you make friends with people) where I feel comfortable to be myself.

I hate when people just blurt them out all loud and say to people in a department store "Ay! Where um..... Where the F*ck is your diapers an shit?" See? We have a problem there. That's just wrong.

In high school I used to be able to climb on the roof of a house no problem. Now? I can't even think about it.

Yeah and his body parts will fail, risk of heart attack, not smell as fresh, might not have all his teeth, might have trouble getting it up and if not, will eventually have blue blurred vision (Viagra), just doesn't have the same penile blood flow. Sorry, some of us young guys have our pros too.

Can roads not be lain before you explore? Could soil not be rich, before you farm?

I believe it is possible to make your own destiny, although there could be many roads in life already built to predetermine the outcome. We did not decide to breath before there was air, the air already existed before and allows us to breathe. The same goes for pretty much everything that wasn't man made. Now with people interacting in everyday life, we are all responsible for each other. Our actions affect the lives of others in a sense.

Maybe this is just A truth and not THE truth. But for me, all things in which I have learned prepared me for something new in my life as if it were supposed to happen. I no longer believe in coincidence, because things have meaning.

Sorry to hear you are not doing so well. It is better to be balanced, as we all know too much of anything can be harmful, either to you or others.

Same here, sometimes I can't help it. I type as I speak, even with pauses and such. I do also have a mouth like a drunken sailor though, and if I do not curse, then much effort is being put fourth to hold my tongue.

I have been doing a little reading regarding cuss words and curious now. You mean to tell me this is an adult site (+18 and over) and you can't say the word "shit"?

That's a PG-13 word there. What's the deal with cuss words anyways?

As a kid, I was told they were Adult Words, then I grow to be an Adult and people say I can't use them. I've been waiting a long time damn it!

I just needed to rant. Anyways, if I get banned..... I love you. laugh

Its a repulsive, nasty habit that smokers should keep to themselves, in there own cancer filled places.
NOT in public !!!

I dont want to smell your ashtray breath, or sit near you as you reek of smoke and ashes.

GROSS ,,,, just GROSS !!!!

Smokers are ignorant, self centered people that need to realize the rest of us do not share their desire to stink, and be offensive to others.

May all you smokers die of cancer, oh wait, hehe, you all will !!!! LMAO

Assuming that is you in the default photo...... may your arteries clog as well
