Hi Ronnie!

So sorry for your loss...

If this happened very recently then you will still be in shock. That can last an awful long time.

Try not to put a time scale on anything like some might try and tell you do..

It'll happen when you're ready for it. In your own time

hug

ttom500: Sounds like you listened to the stories of our Fathers and Grandfathers from WWI and WWII. Today's American ...though in greater color with his Hawian flowered shirt and and his Bermuda shorts...are field mice compared to those Americans.

Have no fear, Summer.....when Yanks come in droves....it is either to vacation or to face down one of the World's nasties.

Yes I did actually lol My dad was in the RAF during the 2nd world war. He was stationed mostly in Burma and also on the Cocas Keeling Islands. He flew with the Americans as an Air gunner in the Liberator. Apart from the time they got him drunk and tatooed and then because of them he was court marshalled..he only has great things to say about the American and Canadian servicemen he was with at that time lol

oh I don't fear them..they can just be a lil annoying

ttom500: A couple of hundreds of years ago, they would have taken old George to the gallows in front of that Old Hall. Indeed tried to...Benedict Arnold's plot was a kidnapping plot of old George.

But is it nice to have made friends since then.....after you drained the country of the three T's................ tea, tobacco, taxes!:-)
At least you did not get the two B's...................bournon and beer....which most came along after the British left.

I have the general feeling... that had you known that they were coming to the country......the Revolutionary War would still be going on.:-) But that is history now.

Here is the US of A. And her friends around the world!

Yes well I guess its just aswell some of us can let things go as we here in Washington should have been Scots before the English came here raping and pillaging lol

We don't have gallows here in the village....just a covered in pond where they used to test women to see if they were witches...

grin

jessejess47: wow that is sooooo very cool,to think that ya'll do this on the day we received our independance from England is something I would never think would be. Nice to know that our independance is so welcomed there, I am sure it has not always been so in the past

Yeah well we're friends now tongue

Although as I posted on another thread....there are a few Americans who descend on our village at this time of year so we lock up our daughters and wear earplugs and sunnies to block out the loudness of their voices and their shirts

I learned very early on that money doesn't make you happy. I grew up with money as my parents had two businesses. I had everything and as a family we had everything. Holidays abroad, cottage in the country etc etc but I hardly ever saw my parents when I was growing as they worked so hard.

Sitting in the middle of all that wealth all I wanted was to be able to spend more time with my mum and dad which I never got to do.

Having money is great but for me the only thing it does is it gives you more choices but as for choosing Love or money...

Love wins absolutely.. smitten
