In response to:
Drinking alcohol just after getting a tatt will fade it also.
When getting a tatt, the artist looked at one of my other tatts and said: You were drinking after you got this one done weren't you, and went on to explain that alcohol will do this if drinking within the first 24 hours.
I'm working on 3 years sober now so won't have this problem for the next tatt
and about alcohol, its not the alcohol that fades your tattoo, its actually the iresponsible artists fault for tattooing you in that condition that caused the fading. Alchol thins your blood, which in turn makes you bleed more when you are getting your tattoo, which in turn forces the artist to go over the pattern more than he should trying to force the ink in, which in turn, between the bloood pushing it out and the scabs that pull ink will create a faded tattoo.
Also puting to much antibiotic on your new tattoo will keep the tattoo from breathing, which will keep the tattoo from properly healing, which will allow ink to come out, which will create a faded tattoo once healed...Only ever put a ultra thin layer of antibiotic on.
Also Allowing water bye the shower, in the tub or in a lake to saturate the tattoo before it is completely healed will reopen the tattoo and allow for ink to come out. A good way to deal with this is to put a thick coat of antibiotic or A&D or whatever over the tattoo while showering or swimming which will keep the water of the pattern, once you are done swimming or showering wipe off the excess ointment and you are good to go.
Hope this helps you out
