HJFinAZ: Well, as matter of fact, I have been to gay bars also. Is there something wrong with gay people that they should not be allowed in bars? Are they outcasts of (your) society and should be locked away in some deep hole?

Let me think now. You are 32 (younger than either of my kids), I am 66. Shit!!!!!!!!! Please excuse me, I know that you surely have experienced so much more than I. I must dwell on this one for a bit.

BTW, at one point in life, I was A "skid row drunk". Doubt you would have had the desire to be there with me.

there you go again jumping to conclusions. i dont have a society. quite the opposite really. nice try, but youll have to get up earlier in the morning to trick me into alienating segments of the population in hopes that i might get lynched by a dating site message board.
the point is im not gay so i dont feel a need to go to gay bars.

i dont understand why you want to make this into a competition of whos been thru more. i dont judge a book by its cover. maybe you shouldnt either. youd be surprised to hear about the precarious situations a wreckless, self destructive, orphan of my tender age can find in the dark alleys of several cities, on 2 continents with very little effort. maybe one day i will take the advice of many who say i should write a book about it. but i think id rather keep it in the past.

im sorry to hear you were in such a situation as skid row drunkenness. theres nothing worse than being in a position where you must rely on others for your basic needs. self esteem is underrated.
i flew to los angeles once on a one way ticket with $200 in my pocket and didnt know a soul. i was there 2 years to the day. i know what its like to not have a roof over your head and have felt the desperation that segways into hopelessness... which then takes you places most people dont know(or want to admit) exist.

if you still think just because im not(nearlywink) as old as you that my life has been peaches and cream theres nothing i can do about that. hopefully you arent as bitter in real life as you come across to me here. sorry if i struck a nerve.

cheers

fireliter: then you discover this partner was on a drug (legal or otherwise)... would this effect your opinion of the person or decision on whether to see them again?

id be disappointed she was holding out on me.

fireliter: drinking and driving, shrooms and driving demerol and driving prozac and driving, librium and driving, all every single prescription or natural substance that alters the mind should be against the law.
damn this mentality if your in an altered state by something illegal you are guilty of a crime while if you on legal medication the rules are different.

I hear too many times people stating nay bragging that they don't do illegal drugs yet when looking for car keys they pull out 2 and 3 bottles of Prescribed drugs yet they are allowed on the road......
yeah theres a double standard that only gods knows how many lives are lost because of it.
its funny. no its sad that there are people who smoke weed and judge others who do "hard" drugs. people are so disappointing. i take every available opportunity to bring to their attention just how ridiculous this is. i dont know if it does any good but i enjoy it so i guess it does. :)

trish123: The way I was taught was that if you squeeze the stem of the PSYLOCYBIN it will turn a shade of purple within an hour or so - thats never failed me yet
i guess im just lazy. lol
or i dont trust myself enough as a botanist. what happens if someone in amsterdam dies from eating the wrong mushrooms because they can no longer get them in the smartshops and have to "guess" which ones are good or which are killers?

trish123: Hi, I wondered where you'd gone - wb
yea i get lost from time to time, thx laugh

trish123: Its great living where I do, I only have to go walking in the fields round late October and the mushies are growing all over the place perfectly natural and untampered with........
they are near me too. so much so that one year they were all over the local news. i remember hearing something waaaay back about there is another mushroom that looks identical but will kill you so that was an effective deterrent for me to just wait for the grateful dead to come around and get em then.

jbibiza: As far as pot goes... I can´t smoke it, it messes me up more then any other drug I´ve ever used and leaves me completely incoherent

ive had pot pretty much paralyze me for hours on a few different occasions. the first time when i was 14. and the last was last year about this same time.

i didnt care for it much at all. the first time because i was the only one out of about 6 people that went thru it and it kind of freaked me out. the last time only because i didnt expect it and i had important things to do which were delayed by a few hours until i snapped out of it.

its only really good weed that does this(obviously) and i have tried to recreate to decide if i liked it or not, but was unsuccessful.

aberfoyle: I followed your link, read the story...came back to your comments.....read your postings in this thread.....and am now totally confused
Are you sad that the Dutch are banning magic mushrooms, sad at the kids death ....what ?

sorry ive been absent.

well of course the kids death is sad, but what im sad about is not being able to buy mushrooms legally in amsterdam. i know youll still be able to get em just like anything else, but it wont be the same as going to the smart shop.

banning mushrooms isnt the answer. banning people like her from getting a hold of them would be better.

how many people die every year from alcohol related accidents and noone is banning that?

aberfoyle: You are not a drug user you say...

did i say that? confused

trish123: Its really sad to see that sort of stuff happen but my theory is that all the chemical, man made stuff has its victims and they would succumb to whatever was readily available in whichever society or surroundings they found themselves

addictive personalities play out their existence around us on a daily basis, they get into that "I cant cope without" mindset and only the lucky few ever escape it..........

stuff that gives physical addictions like alcohol and heroin should be banned out of existence if you ask me

yea, heroin has wreaked havoc on the population. but noones holding a gun to anyones head making them do it.
same thing for alcohol even tho it is one of the most dangerous things in existance. there are lots of people who handle it responsibly, so you cant alienate them.

but its been fun talkin with ya

nitey nite

trish123: The trips I used to do had me face down on the bed for hours and into the fractal realities of existence - there was no way I could have driven - woo hoo, they were the days.........

i wasnt tripping and then decided to drive. i was impatient, couldnt wait to get home, dropped a couple, 2, 3 hits, got in the car, and the race began.

i know what your talking about. being stuck to the floor.

there was a guy in my home town we called the hatchet man. he was real smart and in college he was like a guinea pig for the "chemists" on campus. some over doses runined his life. and his whole family was affected by it.
he used to walk around town talking to himself and all that. your basic LSD tragedy. like syd barrett.

you said a mouthful there. alcohol is by far the most dangerous substance ive ever encountered.
ive gotten in quite a lot of trouble with jose cuervo, and jack damage. talk about impairment.

close minded people get scared and point their fingers at the stuff that sounds bad to them. acid? OMG!
hallucinations? OH NO!!!

trish123: Yeah but had you been drinking too?

I do have to give you a for driving under the influence but pay it no heed, it was time ago and Im sure you wouldnt do it again.......

ah the stuff we do when we are young.........

i wasnt drinking... i wasnt doing anything other than the trips. so i was safer than if i had been drinking but probably really super dangerous while i was watching the asphalt go by at 50mph with the steering wheel in my hand. id never experienced that before or since.

trish123: That sounds brilliant to me, could do with a laugh

The stuff people are smoking now is pretty strong for sure sure but when I was in my teens we had all sorts of good stuff from all over the world too, its out there for the finding its just that in the last few yrs it got harder to get hold of for security at airport type reasons so people have adapted technology instead - im not into the chemical processes which are involved too much............

they are all the time coming up with new drugs. but they all seem to follow along the lines of something else.
but how about this whole DMT thing? you can have a frog as a pet that emits venom from its skin, dry it, smoke it, and have the most intense hallucinogenic experience of your life that lasts for about 15 minutes. if i had found out about this 15 years ago i would have jumped in the car and headed for the colorado river with a butterfly net to go frog hunting without thinking twice about it.
i must be gettin old.

trish123: Thats odd, mushies never once yet made me puke

they did me once when i was 17. oh nevermind i was 20 and it was LSD and i was driving down a big 4 lane road here in atlanta. no time to stop.. i just opened the door and went on about it. i ended up driving home since i was only a mile away and parked it. omg to be so irresponsible and wreckless. thankfully i never hurt anyone back then but myself.

D'oh!

Lagoona22: This is so good...I think you should write a book of short stories about your dope-head buddy...in fact, I think you should collaborate with Mindy, and do a combined effort..Drugs and Diners....how's that??...

seeing that we share this house together, i see so much of this odd behaviour, it really bums me out in a way. i consider him a friend and its hard to watch a friend hurt themself like this.

the weed of today is like crack. i think about teenagers smoking this stuff for the first time... well that might actually be a good thing. its so potent that it might scare em away from the whole drug thing altogether.

but ill post of the THC adventures just to keep my insanity.laugh

MindyQ: Let me see....If I don't like drugs I am close minded? That's not very open minded of you to imply.

I think those that refuse to accept reality, and instead choose an alternate reality by using drugs, are the ones that are closed minded.

Open minded people face the world as it is. Closed minded people hide in the alternate world and reality of drugs.

OK, we will never convince the other of our own view point. I am done. It's your thread so the last word should be yours if you choose. I'll read it and then move on.

no no. im not saying that you are close minded because you dont like drugs. im saying that to condemn someone who does do drugs as not being cool, hip etc. is close minded.

and ill agree that the hardcore addicts are.. well i wouldnt say that they are closed minded, but they definitely are weak minded. there is a difference.

open minded people dont draw conclusions based on something other than fact or experience. thats how i see it anyway.

im not bashin on ya. i dig your posts. you have a great sense of humor. cheers

TechnicalEcstasy: dont even get me started on the war he has waged on the local squirrells that get into his attic.

ok. the squirrels. im not a good storyteller but the facts are entertaining enough. the squirells enter the house thru a hole under the eave of the roof via a tree limb that hangs over it. youc an hear them up there every couple of days. he goes up in the attic and stomps his feet to scare them out.

and if they make him mad enough he will set a box trap with a piece of bread in it before he leaves for work. he has caught 2 at a time on more than one occasion and a couple of them have died in the cage because he came home, sat on the couch and did several bong hits. forgetting he set the trap.

but instead of cutting the tree limb that grants them access to the house this is what he endures. its pure entertainment but a little disturbing at the same time.
