How bad can the economy get? Let me tell you. The economy
can get so bad that people will line a farmers field and when the
farmer is done harvesting, he will give the people a signal and
the people will run on the field to get the leftover scaps of food.
I know, because my parents lived through this in Germany. professor

And he said quite publicly today that he will not support any legislation on this matter if the taxpayers are not included first and foremost... He is also uniquely qualified as one of the only people who actually submitted reform legislation and predicted this would happen.... And was shot down by a PARTY LINE VOTE from the democrats...

Last update: 4:53 a.m. EDT Sept. 23,
LONDON (MarketWatch) -- The Office of Thrift Supervision is pushing Washington Mutual to find a buyer and is considering brokering a deal to break it up between several banks, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the talks. If no outright buyer emerges in the coming days, the regulator could split WaMu's attractive deposit base and retail branch network and also share its troubled mortgage portfolio, the report said. Those participating in the WaMu acution were J.P. Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, , Citigroup, HSBC Holdings, and Banco Santander

Good Karma so far.

I'll pray for you. laugh

I am off today so to maintain the constant flow of my money into the bottomless pit of waste and abuse called taxes,,,

I've with reluctance ( not a lot of) have decided to contribute even on this day off of mine, to go and consume major quantities of over taxed beverages...

that fellow citizens is my contribution to the tax base that will be wasted on those who deemed it necessary to overcharge me for products and services they have offered me throughout my adult life.

this so much resembles an ungrateful child.
all my life I gave and sacrificed, now they openly lie and steal from me.

but I love my country so in saying this I'm off to consume major quantities of taxed beverages.

One month before the election, McCain must be crapping his pants
now. Seriously now, is not this bailout a beginning to nationalism.
How many other bailouts untill every american has stock ownership
in every sector of the economy? Why am I being forced to pay for
something I do want to buy? What happened to the freedom to
use money as I see fit?

Oh, good morning Karen. grin

I have known people who take out credit card loans never expecting
to pay them back. Now the fed wants to bail the people who made
these loans out to these people. Think again.

I find it sadly funny that in this year where the Bush adminstration
gave me $300 stimulus package now wants $3000 from me to
stimulate the federal reserve. Is this just another tax that may
become yearly for the american people. Also, this move that
they are talking about is nationalism. I do not think this is the
road we want to go down as Hitler did. Finally, when Hitler asked
the people of Germany before WWII, do you want guns or potatoes?
The people answered guns, guns, guns. I wonder if we are falling
into this trap now.

Again JMHO

I think it is time for trickle up economics. Instead of giving money to
the very rich (like AIG, etc) to trickle down the money to the poor, we
give the money to the poor and let it trickle up to the rich. The only
problem I see is that some rich have such a suction that they will
turn a trickle into a roaring rapid river. laugh laugh laugh
