Are you serious dude, cause you look real serious in that pic, and if you're not you need to use smileys or something to let us know you're kidding. If you're not kidding, mmmm, think you need to lighten up a wee bit. grin

there should be no parameters for humor. Maybe for yourself....but not in general. There can be no parameters for humor...that amount to censorship. Nor does political coeectness have a place in humor!! All jokes offend someone or something that someone holds dear
thumbs up I do believe that's what most of us have been saying for what, 17 pages now. And trying to be as offensive as possible, succeeding famously I might add! laugh

It's not a matter of how a person looks to me, but simply sharing little snippets of their life and themselves in a photograph. Interests, places, smiles and the like.
The vast majority of the pics I've shared don't even have me in the photo let alone of me. Its just the world through my eyes and my surroundings.
That's the kind of pictures I like to share with people I meet online. Where I live, where I've been, my pets, and of course my grandbaby. Whether I'm in them or not, it tells about who I am and what I love.

I don't care what they do with my body once I'm gone, I won't be needing it any more. Yes, I'm a organ donor. Told my daughter, she was kinda like ewww about it, but if there's anything there worth using, well several somebodies saved my life with 24 pints of blood several years ago, so I'm happy to give someone else the same chance.

I once talked with a woman on this site for several months. She had no profile picture. During the course of our interaction, I never even asked for a picture and she never offered. Things didn't work out afterall. (surprise surprise). The point being, I said in my profile that looks are not that important, and that is what I meant! And I still feel that way!! So, it depends on what you say in your peofile.
How they look is not so important, it's just knowing what they look like, if you are going to meet irl, which obviously you have no desire to do. So no, I can see where it wouldn't matter to you. Some of us like the personal touch though.

I walked in a bar last Friday night, and even having seen the guy's pic I wasn't sure which one he was, till he opened his mouth. It would have kinda freaked me out to walk in there having no idea. And even more so if I'd seen a pic and he looked 10 years older or fatter or something (actually he was a little bigger than I envisioned.) Pictures are important, not for judging the person but for just knowing. What's so bad about that? dunno

In response to:
technically pity and compassion are not the same thing. In this water downed definition world it has become just that.

I pity no one but the ignorant. I don't have compassion for the ingnorant. I have compassion for the unfortunate.wiki reports:Although pity may be confused with compassion, empathy, commiseration, condolence or sympathy, pity is different from all of these.

In regard to humans, pity may be felt towards the homeless, orphans, people with disabilities, those with terminal illness, and especially victims of rape and torture, by non-sufferers of these and similar things.

get it?
shamrock shamrock shamrock
I have never wanted pity or compassion, and I've been in situations where I was getting it, it kinda pissed me off. If I was one of those "pooooor people" on that truck, I'd rather have people laughing than feeling sorry for me. Jeeezuz, give it a break!
