If you're talking about common courtesy to friends and co-workers, strangers you meet in the store, kindness is always the best policy. It never hurts to be nice to people, even if you think they suck.

If you're talking about close relationships, family, lovers, close friends, we can sometimes hide too much behind being too sweet and kind and helpful. Sometimes the best way to love someone is to let them go and make their own mistakes, rather than constantly trying to keep them from falling down and hurting themselves. And constantly hiding how you really feel is the worst thing you can do in a relationship. Sometimes things need to be said, even if the other person doesn't want to hear it.

Appreciate it, men like that are hard to find. Though 2 months seems a little long to wait, but someone who wants to get to know you first before hopping in the sack, well they're rare and worth waiting for.

All I ever needed to know is if they're interesting enough to want to talk to. Meet in a public place and get to know them better, it's the only way to find out. Will and I met on myspace. He sent me a few emails one Saturday night, he was just funny as heck, he asked me out, I thought he was just kidding at first. We met at a restaurant the next day. We had our first "real" date that Friday. If I'd been too scared to take a chance on that first meeting, we might never have met. Life is about taking risks, if you're not willing to risk what you have, you'll never have anything more.

Thank you all for the congrats. As someone (who knows who they are) told me not too long back, it's about time for the law of averages to kick in, after dating so many jerks, it's good to know there's at least one good one left, sorry gals, I got him and I'm not letting him go! tongue grin

I have big, no HUGE news. My sweetie and I have decided to move in together. Actually he's here all the time now so we're practically living together already, but we're going to actually get a place together that's big enough for the both of us. We decided this Tuesday evening and already found a place yesterday. It's on the river just up from where I am now, and it's got an even more gorgeous view than here, you can fish right off the front yard and has it's own boat launch, not that we have a boat, but we could have one sometime.

I'm excited, just a little scared, this is not something I'd anticipated doing any time soon. I've enjoyed living by myself, but I enjoy being with this man even more. I've never known a man like him, he's smart and funny and interesting, we have the best conversations. He's a great cook, if I cook he cleans up. He treats me like a princess, in a good way, not like putting me on a pedestal, but taking care of me when I'm sick or need something. Likes the same kind of movies and music as me, umm what else ... good in bed. devil

true enough. or dont say it until or unless you do mean it.
That was supposed to be, don't say it mean. doh Although it kinda makes sense the other way too, but totally different meaning.

BnaturAl: agreed!just an aside.... that saying ought to be tempered somewhat and most often. I acknowledge that emotions sometimes get the better of us, but if people spend more time identifying the emotion, then identifying its appearance within us,first, then the "saying" part becomes more meaningful, not only for us, but for the person who "wants" to hear.
I agree, say what you mean, mean what you say, but the rest of the saying is, don't say it mean.

wave Hey Al, good topic.

They say if you have a good sex life it's not that important, if you don't it's the most important thing.

I'm of the opinion that if the love's there, the sex is going to be great. If the love isn't there, sex can be good, but not nearly as rewarding. How I feel afterward about the person and the experience is really more important to me than the act itself.

Of course if I weren't in love I'd have a whole nother story! grin love

wave Hey Stew, and everyone else. That song is one of my favorites, it's better to say too much, than never to say what you need to say.

I spent the better part of my life not saying things that needed to be said, just to keep the peace. I still think before saying just anything that comes to mind, but I'm not so scared now of how others will take things. If it's something that I need to say about how I feel, that's more important to me now, their reaction is their business.

I joined this site around January of last year. I have met so many wonderful people online here, and a few of you in person. It's been so much fun, and actually educational and informative at times, participating on the forums. The games, the laughs, the idle chit-chat, the discussions, even the arguments, I've loved it all.

A few of you may have noticed I haven't been on much the last couple of weeks, that's cause I've met the greatest guy. I swear if I had I put in an order for the man of my dreams I couldn't have done as good because I'd have left something out. We've got so much in common, even though we've led very different lives (his has actually been interesting!) He's smart and sexy and sweet, likes to cuddle and is a great cook!

Ok, I'll stop gushing now, and get to the point of this thread. This isn't a good-bye thread or anything, but I'm probably not going to be spending a lot of time here in the future, and there's a lot of people I would like to stay in touch with. If you have a myspace page or YM id and want to send it to me, I'd love to have it.

I love this site and all the people here for all the fun I've had and the confidence I've developed by talking to all of you for the last almost two years. I'll be popping in from time to time when I just need to kill some time and have some laughs. You guys are the greatest!

kiss hug heart beating

mbcasey: Starlin...you get a "10" for your posts in this thread!!

I come into threads and try an attempt at some humor. So I might be considered an habitual thread buster.

I think to keep a thread to the subject matter, the OP has to reply to almost every post made and keep it on topic him or herself. So if you want a topic to be not busted, it is the responsibility of the OP.
Taking responsibility for ourselves? shock Here, are you kidding? rolling on the floor laughing
